Now there's a thread title to which Betteridge's Law may not apply.

I'm pretty surprised by the lack of enthusiasm for Hillary among Democratic voters and think that Elizabeth Warren could likely beat her in the primaries. Does anyone else agree?

Yeah, if she had any intention of running. It's quite apparent that she doesn't. She'd probably take most of Sanders' supporters quicker than Clinton's, though.

Would Superman beat the Hulk in a fight? I ask because, like the OP, it's entirely based on a fiction that won't happen.

I agree with this.

On a side note, I wonder why we see another thread by a conservative about a Democrat, but not about anyone they are supporting?

I think it's unlikely Warren could get the nomination at this point. She doesn't have any infrastructure in place and would be competing with Bernie Sanders for the progressive vote. However, Joe Biden could get the nomination, and Warren might be able to help him. John Fund thinks that a good strategy would be for Biden to promise to pick Warren as his VP and also promise to only serve one term as President. It's a good idea except for that fact that Joe Biden is something of a clown, and Elizabeth Warren still has that Fauxcohontas stuff to deal with. That's got to worry Democratic bigwigs. Hillary still would have a better chance in the general election.

Only to those who look at Democrats through...rose clown colored glasses.

No, but I think it's perfect for the Republican base who look at such minutiae like debutants look at shiny objects.

I think the native American ancestry claims and the weird and deceptive way she dealt with questions about them kind of rules out the Democratic nomination for her.

Not really. I see him as a bit of a clown as well.
He's certainly had more then his share of "bloopers" when speaking, but I've always found his policies and legislation sound. FWIW, GWB"s similar speaking issues rolled off my back. I try really hard to not let superficial problems cloud my view.

I'm thinking more brown greenish with the occasional spot of yellow colored glasses. If you catch my drift and my previous mentions of republickers........

It's a narrative that the media fabricates. Biden has many great moments speaking publicly and sincerely about important issues.

I also think a Biden -Warren ticket would be strong for the dems.

The notion that it's a "fact" that Biden is a clown is lol worthy. It's as clear as the day is long in the dead of summer in Barrow that this is opinion, not fact. Words have meaning you know, right wing echo chamber notwithstanding.

As for Warren being damaged due to misrepresenting herself as a youth... this too is lol worthy. Turn off the am radio dude!

When a candidate says something stupid, it might be a verbal gaffe, or it might actually represent stupidity. This is why critical thinkers will take the stupid statement in context of the candidate's record.

My use of the word "fact" is clearly rhetorical. Words do, in fact, have meanings that depend on context, and the word "fact" can be used in several ways. In any case, I said that Biden is something of a clown. That doesn't mean he wears a little red ball on his nose and shuffles around in really long shoes. It means that he often doesn't apply an appropriate filter between his brain and his mouth. He is also a bit dopey and getting dopier with age. That's not a horrible thing in a President, but I don't think he would be a strong candidate.

Finally, this has nothing to do with right wing echo chambers. I have followed Joe Biden from his embarrassing withdrawal from the 1988 Presidential race through his absolutely ridiculous bloviating as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee during the Clarence Thomas hearings, and up to the present. It is a fact that he is literally a clown (using the word "literally" in the sense that Joe Biden uses it).

She began misrepresenting her ethnicity in a directory of law school faculty in 1986, when she was 37 years old, and when her academic career was flagging. She stopped listing herself as a minority in that directory in 1996, the year after she got tenure at Harvard Law School. There is no question that it was a calculated move on her part, and it worked. At the time, she was the only faculty member at Harvard Law School who hadn't graduated from a top 20 law school (she went to Rutgers, which is ranked 87th or thereabouts).

That gaffe needs to be compared to the gaffes of her presumed opponents.

I'll take her gaffe vs. the gaffes of her opposition any day. You?
You're wasting your time. Superficial sniping is all they got. That's why you almost never see them pushing "their" candidates.
