Typical Trump Supporters

Hey, wait a second... I support Trump!

(for the Republican nomination, but not for the presidency)

Why? I think you're making a grave strategic error. Do you realize that if he wins the nomination, he has a very good chance of winning? He's going to bring people to the polls who haven't voted for years. People have underestimated Trump from the beginning, and seem likely to continue to do so until he's sworn in!

Trump has built a winning coalition that includes zero minorities, women, and former POW's. The angry white male vote is all you need, as President Romney can attest to.

And electing a delusional megalomaniac who uses bigotry as his main campaign weapon to the Oval Office somehow makes you happy just because it is somehow giving a finger to the Establishment?

Really?

He's going to get more minorities than any republican has gotten in awhile. He'll also get the same amount of women as any repub has gotten.

Besides the angry white male didn't show up for Romney, he was a wimp.

Logger may be right on this point. The polls that other posters have been citing indicate that Trump's approval rating among women is similar to the approval ratings of other candidates.

Hate is the trait of the typical Trump supporter. Xenophobic hate. Violence is merely one way that trait manifests itself.

Trump and his ilk rile up the base. This is simply one result.

There are a lot of people like my self that like Trump because he is not being politically correct and dares to speak his mind, it has nothing to do with hate. if putting up a wall and making people come here legally, then I'm all for it. Unlike Obama that wants to give them amnesty.

Couple Trump supporters I've teased, able to get away with it as I've known them for years, both expressed frustration with Republicans who've broken repeated promises to make things better by kicking lazy bums off welfare, ending abortion, getting rid of Obama and other illegals, making them proud again.

And similarly ridiculous to pretend that he won't get minorities. Trump is likely to have a greater share of the minority vote, particularly the Black vote, than any Republican has enjoyed in a long time. And no former POWs? How many of them are there voting? A few hundred?

He is mentally unstable. A narcissistic piece of human trash.

If you're standard is not being politically correct and speaking his mind, vote for Bernie Sanders. At least in that event, we can avoid a war because he won't call the head of state of some country a whore.

There's a first time for everything. Unfortunately for logger being right that time wasn't it.

I consider that a valid inference based on Trump's entire body of work.

I suppose Logger and I could be wrong on this matter, the only way to tell will be to look at some actual poll numbers.

D. Reilly, do you still have those links?

Poll numbers for women

Trump has built a winning coalition that includes zero minorities, women, and former POW's. The angry white male vote is all you need, as President Romney can attest to.

Well, it may be that neither Fudbucker nor Logger has a particularly accurate assessment. Although Logger was a bit closer to the actual numbers.

There was also a strong gender gap among Trump’s supporters, even before the Megyn Kelly debate dustup. Men typically support Trump by at least three points more than his overall total, while women back him by two to six points less.

[snip]

We see an even larger gender gap in answers to the “would never vote for” question. Before the debate, about 36 percent of women said they would never vote for Trump, compared with between 25 and 29 percent of men. One cannot imagine that women have become more favorable toward Trump since then.

I lived in Vermont under Sanders he is still a socialist no matter what he says and voted I against him in every election. He claims to support us Veterans while voting at the same time to cut our retirement benefits . he says one what people want to hear and then just does what he wants.

Here's one from all the way back in late July. I'll try to find a more recent one.

Donald Trump has 'huge lead' among Repuplican women voters, polls say

Mr. Bush bests Mr. Trump among all Republicans and among male voters. Mr. Trump, however, triumphs among conservatives, independents and female voters. He has a “huge lead” among women, Mr. Zogby said - 26 percent to Mr. Bush’s 10 percent, and 7 percent for Mr. Walker.

This is not the first survey which reveals Mr. Trump has appeal for women voters - support deemed crucial by analysts who have also warned that the candidate’s style might not appeal to the ladies. The findings suggest otherwise.

Here's another one:

http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/data-mine/2015/08/18/trump-holds-on-to-female-votes-for-now

Another poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos found Trump's female support fell slightly, from 26 percent on Aug. 3 to 20 percent the week after the GOP debate in Cleveland. However, a third of women randomly interviewed on the street in Pennsylvania by Gallup said they were Trump supporters and that their loyalty to him hasn't faltered. These numbers suggest Trump could lose fans here and there, but most of them are in it for the long haul.

And from August 18:

The poll finds evidence of a slight gender gap in support for Trump, who has faced public questions recently about his treatment of women, though he does lead the field among both men and women. Trump stands at 27% among Republican men and at 20% among Republican women, a gap just outside the margin of error for each group.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/18/politics/donald-trump-presidential-poll-debate/

And this article from the New York Times states:

In poll after poll of Republicans, Mr. Trump leads among women...

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/23/u...mp-wont-fold-polls-and-people-speak.html?_r=0

So to say that women aren't going to vote for Trump is pretty much to deny reality at this point.

Bottom line is, Trump's approval ratings among women are higher than for any other Republican candidate.
