It is possible that they both mishandled documents. However, that is not being claimed by the Inspectors General.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/24/politics/hillary-clinton-email-justice-department/

The inspector general for the intelligence community has informed members of Congress that some material Hillary Clinton emailed from her private server contained classified information, but it was not identified that way.

...

The four emails in question "were classified when they were sent and are classified now," spokeswoman Andrea Williams told CNN.

So, yes, the inspector general is claiming that Clinton mishandled confidential documents. Clinton, on the other hand, is claiming that she never handled any by email.

The remarkable thing is that Hillary turned over all her emails to a private law firm, none of whom had proper security clearances. Further according to the IG, that private law firm still has copies of the documents, including the secret documents!

The hilarious thing is that despite the bitter attacks on Republicans in this thread, this whole fiasco had nothing to do with republicans or Benghazi at all!

State asked Hillary to turn over the documents, which first came to light of the public in connection with a FOIA lawsuit which caused a judge to order their production, and when the FBI saw the production, they realized that classified info was being released, which caused the IG to audit the production at which point they realized that there was Material that had previously been marked secret that had been forwarded to Hillary's cowboy server and also to her lawyers which do not have security clearances!

Fantastic! Keep blaming Republicans for Hillary's idiocy, folks!

McCullough’s letter does not allege specifically that Clinton sent classified information from her private account.

This contradicts the opening statement in your link that you quoted.

No kidding?! Shocked, SHOCKED I tell you.

Msnbc Analyst Chides Clinton

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell said Monday morning on Morning Joe that the media underestimated the impact of the Clinton email scandal, and that no experts she consulted could give any plausible explanation for Hillary Clinton‘s use of a private email server as Secretary of State.

Avid readers of this thread will recall that the reason is reflected in Clinton's "can you imagine" statement when asked whether she used e-mails.

She thought she was going to get away with it if it wasn't for those pesky Inspector Generals.

Where we are this week in the massive *************** that is Hillary's private cowboy server.

As we know, the State Department is under a Court Order to produce documents from Hillary's private stash on a monthly basis. The next tranche is due this week. State said they were going to go ahead and produce them

In the meantime, the Intelligence Community's Inspector General is screaming that Hillary and State have failed to properly account for communications that contain secret data and is requesting that it be delayed again so that someone from the intelligence community with an actual brain could look at the stuff before it hits the street.

Beyond the fact that Hillary used a private server, the explanation that was proffered over the weekend was that Hillary's staff took data from Secret communications from the intelligence community and put them into unmarked unclassified emails to Hillary because Hillary did not want to be bothered to use the god damn secure system!

Bwhahahah!

Does this mean we should be getting a merge with the Benghazi thread into an all-encompassing "Hilliary Evil" thread? Stick in CT and we can be satisfied that we're all on the same page now?

Of course, in addition to being too lazy to use the confidential system, it certainly could also be that Hillary wanted those communications off the government's server and on her own it order to shield herself from any scrutiny....

Petraeus got 2 years probation and a 100,000 fine for a smaller leak. I'm having a hard time imagining that Hillary will get out of this without at least the same. After that, her presidential run is going to have serious problems. A conviction for mishandling government secrets is going to make a primary run exceptionally difficult for her.

"What difference does it make?", will be her new slogan.

We should start keeping a tab of how many times people claim "Hillary is going to prison and she is DONE when it comes to being the President."

Indeed. Man, this time she is done! Nope? Ok, this time our phony scandal will stick! Nope? This time for sure! No? This time definately done! No?....ad nauseam. Sort of like a fly trying to escape a window.

You are aware that the State Department limited their own IG and only looked at 40 of ~30000 emails or so, right?

We are to believe that she received intelligence but never replied to any of it? In 6 years?

Also, since we now know that she did have classified information on her server and she provided all of that information on a thumb drive to her lawyer, she has handled classified information incorrectly. Giving classified information to someone without a security clearance and a need to know is a violation of the security laws.

If you are comfortable making stronger statements of fact than the IG does, go for it. Let me know when the IG agrees with you.

The thumb drive is only the most obvious, as those lawyers don't have security clearances.

Of course, the whole thing is a red herring because Hillary was in charge, of course, and told her underlings to use that cowboy system.

Of course, Hillary will probably throw anyone under the bus. She's ready!

I sure am glad that I do not have such hatred for any other person.
