I read into his apology a subtext that maybe he doesn't want to continue this just yet. He got into a rough patch, took a break, came back, and apologized forthwith. If he doesn't want to pursue the topic, then yes he'll end up leaving parts of the discussion hanging. The proof of the pudding will be in how he picks it back up again, if he ever does.

Private investigator Barry Krusch asked the people at NARA to send him photographs of the three spent shells found on the floor in the snipers nest, TSBD. They did but the initials proving chain of custody isn't on them.

Private investigator John Hurt went to NARA trying to find the initials on "the magic bullet" CE-399 proving the chain of custody, but they were not on it.

There's nothing unusual about it? The material has mistakingly been placed elsewhere? We live in an imperfect world where oftentimes things don't align with narrative precision?

Of course, there is always room for mistakes but the shells and the bullet are not missing in the archives, the initials on the shells and the bullet are missing.

How come?

Well, I'll tellya, the way I see it is this- you either have your nefarious and powerful conspiracy able to pull off the crime of the century, undetected except as to niggling details like this one, which forgot this niggling detail, or...you have the way it happened, no conspiracy, and someone forgot the same thing. Either way, it's "someone forgot"; at least with the official narrative, you don't need the conspiracy to both explain the forgotten detail and be revealed by it. Parsimony is your friend, heads off many a circle...

That police officers are "supposed" to initial these items is a bit of lore propagated by conspiracy theorists. Investigating officers may initial them, but that is only one of several ways that may be employed to established identity of evidence and its chain of custody.

Explain, in Conspiracy Land, why -- if the shells are counterfeit or doctored as insinuated -- the supplying agency simply didn't also counterfeit the "mandatory" initials in order to satisfy the expectation?

As usual, the expectations are naive and wrong.

Do you have evidence that the exemplars were initialed by anyone, and if so, who initialed the exemplars?

Are you kidding? Your conspiracy forgot to fulfill your expectation that the bullets and shell would be initialed, did they not? If the official narrative, as Jay says, requires no initialing, then no explanation is required for them being "missing." If you expect them to be there, then you need to explain why your far-reaching conspiracy didn't put them there per your expectation. It's your straw- grasp it firmly at least.

And, for the love of gawd, will at least one of you CTists make at least an effort at understanding the idea of consilience? I've used this image before, but...think of it as a spider's web. The spider (the conclusion) at the center is supported by multiple and converging strands of evidence, and most of these strands also cross-brace each other. What you and every other Ctist I've ever seen are doing is just finding an insignificant corner of the web and snipping at an isolated strand there. At the very most, all you ever do is snip one tiny filament and cry triumphantly "ha! I've cast down this web!" while the spider at the center continues to sit unconcerned, and laughs at people who can't even be troubled to build their own web.

I am not "supposing" anything:
Tomlinson, Wright, Johnsen, and Rowley all failed to positively ID CE-399. Thus it fell to Elmer Todd to make the positive ID, which he did. And just how did Todd accomplish that? He purportedly recognized the initials he placed on the bullet on the day of the assassination (CE 2011, at 24H412, CD 2).

The question for me became, is Todd's mark on the CE-399 bullet?

No, no initials from Todd on the bullet.

If no one in the stated chain of custody can identify the bullet as CE-399, then what bullet is archived as CE-399 in NARA?
