Drop in Religious and specifically Christian

the Catholics just picked up all of Cuba, so they have that going for them, which is nice.

C. Spackler

Cuba was always a pretty strong place for Catholics. Castro did not slap them around like we have seen in other communist countries

How about "proud atheist"? Much closer to actual practice than "militant".

Yeah, or even 'outspoken advocate' might fit.

If somebody's being a bore at parties and won't shut up about a topic, it's not really about the topic so much as a social skill deficit or what I call "Cluster B". Next year they'll be dominating the conversation some entirely different subject.

I also distinguish between the different behaviors of atheists. There's a tiny minority of whom I actually would classify as 'militant'. Examples of militant behaviour would be advocating for the prosecution of priests for 'fraud,' the revoking of medical licenses for all but atheists, picketing churches, spitting on churches, defacing monuments that have religious symbols &c.

Ah now I get it. Someone like an evangelical Christian. Thanks for that.

It is not just evangelical Christians.... it's also a lot of normal people in everyday life. They are noticeably and increasingly trying to shove Jesus down people's throats every opportunity they get .

For example (I just saw this) in things like graduation ceremonies in a state college where the speakers mention Jesus no less than 5 times... not just god... but Jesus ... and that is in addition to mentioning God numerous times.

But what raised my hackles was also the full fledged quotes from Matthew and Samuel and Judges giving the verse, chapter and book references.

This is a STATE college with citizens from all around the state.

Also it was not one speaker... it was three of them.

Blatant ... I think perhaps even deliberate... in your face JJeeSSus.
