Looking for Skeptics

I do not believe that the JREF will agree to a test protocol which will allow you to wear a diamond ring for days at a time unsupervised. I don't know anything about how to damage a diamond (non-psychically), but I'm willing to guess that there are ways in which it can be done.

That's one problem (Cassidy, I'm not suggesting that you would actually do this, just saying that it would need to be ruled out). Another is that the test relies on the judgment of the "expert". A Challenge protocol needs to give a self-evident result, not requiring judgment. I suspect that some sort of blinding would also be required.

Is that still the case?
It was the case 3 years ago, when he was the person appointed to work with dowser Donald Hawthorne on his application. He'd be the likeliest person for JREF to call on if a UK application was accepted.

DowserDon's thread is here:

It would be a worthwhile use of Cassidy's time to read through the whole thread, to see how a suitable test protocol is arrived at and what happens when such a test is run.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time you've made this suggestion...... to no avail.

Nothing has been agreed upon no. but the equipment required is ready to be sent off from a friends house once a protocol is in place.

Punctuation helps clarity of expression, which also helps with clarity of thought. Attention to detail!

Why do you start a sentence without capitalising the first letter? It makes it hard to read, and that makes it hard to comprehend.

I point this out because this thread is a train wreck of repeated failure to grasp what a protocol is, and I hold no hope that your thinking skills have developed in the meantime, seeing as your writing is as sloppy as ever.

If no protocol has been agreed on, how do you know what equipment is required for it?

..I'm still reading through Don's thread, which may take a while.

I've emailed and outlined how I can demonstrate these abilities, and await a response. When I hear word back, I can work out a good/fair protocol.

I've done much testing/experimenting, but it's expensive to test out the diamond altering. The results are 6 out of 7 for now.

Just to rectify the time that the diamonds should begin to alter, the black carbon within the diamonds, should increase within several hours of the start of the test. It was the fractures that took a further 3 days during pre-testing.

(I shall g back to Don's thread, and thanks for the link)

You're aware, of course, that a "good/fair protocol" is going to involve more than just how you think you "can demonstrate these abilities"?

If you want to demonstrate that you can alter the composition of a diamond, you're going to need more than three of them.

What?? flaccon's back and is Cassidy now? How interesting. She's the reason I joined the forum. :)

I'll be following along with this new test, though as a lover of all things shiny I cringe a little at the thought of destroying diamonds to prove a claim. This is going to be an expensive test.

I predict that no diamonds will be harmed as a result of this challenge.

3 PC's (One New)
1 diamond trilogy ring (Good sized diamonds)
1 Drum
1 Elastic band.

Now I am more curious than ever! However, I think you are placing the cart before the horse. You can not know what equipment will be needed until you and JREF have an agreed upon protocol. According to the rules for the MDC you are responsible for the cost of all items needed to perform the test.
