Continuation Part 14: Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito

I honestly think the wheels are coming off Yummi. But this could mean the Rudy confirmation, or the Hellmann annulment. Considering the next report is the final judicial report, and neither A or R can be holding the knife, it must be Yummi believes that the final truth is SODDI.

Sorry, SODDI? What's that mean?

I think some posts by some people (not you) lack common sense.

Actually asking to sit down or Skype with Gill might be helpful. That is quite a good idea.

One of the interesting things is that usually for a serious crime like this the UK police would provide a liaison officer, and monitor the investigation. I suspect the Metropolitan Police - London Police Force - not to be confused with the City of London Police, (Croydon her home town was in the Met area) felt that once Guede was convicted there was no issue.

My impression was that the jet hers received little if any assistance from the uk. No travel expenses, no investigatory oversight, pretty much bupkis as far as I know.

I think they even got hooked up with maresca thru mignini's office. I think they've been pretty much abandoned from pretty early on. Except for when tabloids wanted to exploit their pain.

Can't blame them for being bitter, but john kercher comes from that world. Maybe that's karma?

Some Other Dude Did It. I should have been specific because I was puzzled when I started posting by abbreviations, until I found they all respond to googling.
By the way, Yummi is between the ages 41 and 45 as he was a child in 1980 at the time of the Bologna massacre, so started watching this case in his 30s. This explains a lot of his idiocy, I always thought he was a lot older and potentially wiser.

Randy's in top form.

Are you able to share the link to Randy's FB page?
I will ask his permission.

Brilliant. I'm going to start attaching the words "wrongfully accused" to Amanda's and Raffaele's names every time I mention them. Their names need to become shorthand for "severe cronyism and corruption" that was aimed at "trying to get clearly innocent persons locked away."

Wrongfully accused Italian software engineer Raffaele Sollecito will be making a public statement tomorrow. Wrongfully accused journalist Amanda Knox has recently announced her engagement. Etc.

A rare occasion when the word "awesome" is actually appropriate!

Randy is a class act. Shame we lost him from here.

"Forgive Amanda"? Was this a typo? They were the ones trying to destroy her life!

Sure they were, but probably not the present or future officials. Keep in mind for example, that enrollment from foreign students is down considerably in Perugia and locals attribute it to the case and how it has been portrayed by the media.

At some time, it would be fantastic PR for them to invite Amanda back. It all depends on who's running the show. If their ties and loyalties are to Mignini and his cabal...then there is no chance. But if those ties are severed and people move on and realize that this stain will never disappear without a sincere "mea culpa" it will happen.

But on the other hand, I could be wrong.

"Seven and a half years after the murder of Ms Kercher in Perugia, and a number of legal proceedings, Franceso Maresca, the lawyer representing the Kerchers, said yesterday: “The family is in shock after the verdict. They don’t wish to make any other declarations. I’ve had to explain to them there are now no avenues open to them. There is a great sense of bitterness.”"

Sure there are:

1) Demand all the evidence in the cases is released.

2) Sit down with Peter Gill and let him explain the forensic evidence from the complete case file.

3) Insist on an independent review of the conduct of the case.

After all, they've always wanted to know the truth.

4. Fire their idiot lawyer and get a good one.

Two things, in connection with this:

1) Seattle is twinned with Perugia

2) As we know, between the murder and the final interrogations, the Mayor of Perugia extended to Amanda and her mother the use of a flat in the town.

I wonder what they all really think of Mignini there.

What the motivations report says about multiple attackers is one of the most fascinating issues. And it will have implications.

I think it will be quite easy and proper for this court to say "we don't care what some other court said in some other case. It was incumbent on this prosecution to prove that there were multiple attackers and they didn't do that. In fact, the evidence strongly suggests just one guy."

This would be fully consistent with the law everywhere, in particular, under the echr. Hellmann got this one right; chieffi blew it.

Unless he got paid. Not a joke. If a deal could be structured so Rudy wouldn't face additional charges, and Biscotti could get his filthy palms greased, that's a deal I could see happening.

I still say Rudy confessing to the media, in exchange for money being paid to the Kerchers, is just win-win-win.

I believe it is more likely that Guede will be manipulated into revealing details than undergo a conversion and confess and cooperate.

Someone crafty will befriend Rudy and get him drunk, or high, and get a truer account from him. Not a complete story - but a statement (recorded) that he did the crime (alone) and that Amanda was not there. I predict Rudy will never be well off financially. He will live paycheck-to-paycheck, be in financial need, and will say something for money - not money to go to his lawyer or the Kerchers - but money for himself - cash, unaccounted for. He will be vulnerable to journalists posing as friends, or "friends" who will play him and deliver his story to paying journalists.

When Lumumba looked for and located Amanda coming out of class two days after the murder was discovered, Lumumba reportedly asked her two things 1) how she was, and 2) did she want to talk to a journalist. Apparently he was serving as go-between for a journalist, possibly one who was hanging out at his bar. He may have been looking for a finders-fee. He got more than he bargained for, compliments of Napoleoni's nighttime interrogation squad.

This is where the ECHR could help, if the Kerchers lodge a claim against Italy of a violation of Convention Article 2, failure to conduct an effective investigation of a murder. Of course, they should consider getting a lawyer not tied to the Italian police and prosecution, so as to avoid a possible conflict of interest.

While the family might be deceived, I consider it really unlikely that Maresca does not know that Amanda and Raff are not guilty and that Guede most likely is the sole attacker.

As much as I see this happening at some point, I do not expect it to happen for years. It will only happen after public opinion in Italy Is firmly behind Amanda and Raffaele. I imagine there are more than a few nutters over there that are raising a stink at the moment. But over time they will be marginalized just like the nutters here and the UK.

I think it would be absolutely fine and right for them to say what you suggest - it's the truth and the truth is better than some fiction. But the cost of the truth, could be a conviction review for Guede, because they blew that trial. I think they will want to avoid that.

I have a suggestion for the Kerchers actually. . . .
Find a private investigator who is bilingual and has a reputation for honesty. As him or her to investigate the case and accept whatever the PI tells them.
