The Beatles conspiracy!!

Whichever of you believes she broke up the Beatles. Myron said he or she is "still pissed off at Yoko" and you replied "all right thinking people are". What would inspire such anger unless you attributed some past vile actions to her? The claim that her presence or activities ended the Beatles is conspiratorial nonsense.

As to her screeching on some of John's records, she was an avant-garde artist. You're not supposed to find her vocals aesthetically pleasing. They're intended to be jarring insofar as they evoke the pain and tragedy of the atomic bombs our nation dropped on her people. Don't like it? Join the club! But there's little point in being "pissed" at her for it, 40+ years later.

HAHA!

You never saw the John Lennon and Chuck Berry duet on The Mike Douglas show about 1970-1971? Yoko Ono provided 'backup vocals'

Also, Revolution #9

Perhaps it is possible to credit Yoko Ono with being an avant garde artist, and even if one stretches near to the breaking point to credit her with being a good one, but that does not make her a good rock musician. Even if you decide you love Yoko's work it still seems possible to regret that she got involved with the Beatles.

Sure, but I think you've both missed my point despite my having spelled it out as clearly as I can. Yoko didn't break up the band, and to believe she did requires spinning conspiratorial theories. Hence its appropriate placement in this forum.

I would tend to agree, but I don't think I missed your point. It looked as if you were making two points.

Just to make clear, whether or not Yoko had anything to do with any actions taken by the Beatles or not, there is ample and sufficient reason to hate her outside of any connection to the English pop band.

I mean, seriously, have you ever heard her sing wail into the microphone like some sort of wounded wildebeast?

I'm offended on behalf of wounded wildebeests.

C'mon, let's be realistic about Yoko's talent.

I can't stand her myself, but she's still infinitely better than the Madonnas and Taylor Swifts of the world.

From what I've read about (and by) Lightfoot, he's definitely A Beautiful Mind.

When you show up uninvited at a gig for a Beatles cover band and try to get onstage uninvited to spread the good word of "who killed John" you might find yourself in a hostile environment.

If you don't understand why, you are a nut.

Hate the vox, not the vocalist! ;)

!Yikes! did you leave off the sarcasm smilies?

Absolutely not. And factor in that I'm almost in love with Taylor Swift.

She's a very nice person, it seems, is besties with NZ's current favourite daughter, Lorde, and is bloody gorgeous.

Her singing, however, makes fingernails on a blackboard sound like Mozart.

Madge is just a sad old slapper who never had any talent to start with: can't sing, can't dance...

Damn, and now fake!Paul McCartney has bluffed his way to headline Roskilde Festival.

And he plays on saturday, when I've got tickets for friday :(

We should be discussing a more serious Beatles conspiracy, about how they kicked Clarence out the group and scrubbed all the evidence he was in it

Life's little coincidences... haven't thought of Joe in a while and right now in the background is the TNG episode with him as the "Holodeck Comedian". :p

It's a vanity forum from someone called "Silversong", who also gives me the impression that he/she is mentally ill.
