Is ESP More Probable Than Advanced Alien Life?

Is it possible there is a Bigfoot hiding in my back garden which waits for me to leave the house so it can use the computer?

As far as I can tell from this thread it's logically probable. That's why you always need a password.

Not really. It could have a physical mechanism we haven't discovered. Just because a phenomenon is not understood does not make it magical... Snip...

You've not kept up to date with our knowledge, there is now no gap left in which such a phenomena could be hiding.

The main problem with this is that it has been shown that it is possible for life to exist, there is however NO evidence that ESP exists or is even possible.

Planets in habitable zones around other stars have already been discovered.

Since we don't know the parameters of the habitable zone, this can't be asserted. We've seen planets that are in similar positions that Earth is in, but that's all.

Remember, if just a dozen factors have be within a 1% tolerance for life to be possible, the chances of life existing in this galaxy (other than here) would be extremely remote. We don't know if there are five factors at work or 50. We don't know if the parameters can vary by 50% or .5%.

Except of course that it happened pretty quickly on this planet.
These arguments you make fail badly.

Doesn't matter, you're still dealing with a sample size of one. If you win a lottery on the first try or the 10th try, you still won't be able to determine what the odds of winning are. It's also possible there's a narrow window for abiogenesis to occur at all. Abiogenesis is not very well understood, and it's impossible to assign odds to it, at the present time.

Jones your cleverness frightens me....it doesn't matter if it is KGB ...no one can explain it still....

I agree the answer is no. I think they're equal.

I don't have much interest in ESP. Some things have happened to me, like most people, but they could be explained by coincidence or my own fallible memory. I'm agnostic about it.

I don't think the lack of results in testing count for much. If I had a paranormal ability, I don't think I would advertise it. I can't assume other people would broadcast the information.

I would be secretly ruling the world and you could never find out. :)

Ask the govt to meet an alien...they've been in contact with them for decades...

They said they don't know/have any aliens, and that anyone who says they do is wrong. They would like your email address and/or cell phone number.

it's an alleged KGB video and a good one...no one has explained it....tsig-----remote viewers who were trained by the govt have written many books about their experiences. ---remote viewing----using psychic senses to view any object , person, event in the past, present or future------they were surprised to learn that anyone can learn how to use their psychic abilities.

Would you care to substantiate any of the highlighted claims?

How, for instance, do you, personally, claim you "use" your "ESP"?

Didn't know you were so timid....it is a KGB video of gray aliens walking down a hall, being measured, sitting in a chair....didn't mean to frighten you....it's ok to look at the alien video....they don't hurt anyone in it...

Unicorns and rainbow farts, all around the world.

find books on psychic spies, remote viewing, ---the Monroe Institute trained military ppl in remote viewing and obe's , too------- to learn more on those programs. I have had many psychic dreams of events that happened always 2-3 months in the future. I have known a package will be delivered on a day, who is on the phone, that a relative is about to call me---and they did, I tell annoying people to leave and they do , I think sexy thoughts and men flock around me....

This is an Appeal to Ignorance Fallacy. Please at least pretend to be on the same page as the rest of us.

You are aware of a consensus of what a habitable zone means, don't you? At a minimum, it's a zone where liquid water is possible. If you have a better definition, let's see it.

Remote Viewing: The Science and Theory of Nonphysical Perception Paperback – March 28, 2005

by Courtney Brown --------Remote viewing is the mental ability to perceive and describe places, persons, or events at distant locations in the past, present, and future. This book describes the science and theory of the remote-viewing phenomenon. The reality of the remote-viewing phenomenon is not in dispute among a large body of respected researchers both inside and outside of academia who have published an extensive collection of high-quality investigations over the past few decades. But profound mysteries remain. This volume breaks new ground by resolving some of remote-viewing's greatest enigmas. In these pages, new research and new theories explain why remote viewing works, and why it is scientifically possible. These investigations utilize remote-viewing methods that are derivative of those used for decades in well-documented U.S. government funded psi research sponsored by the Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.) and the Defense Intelligence Agency (D.I.A.). Filled with descriptions and analyses of highly original experiments, here is an investigation into the fascinating characteristics of time and physical reality using remote viewing as a tool of exploration, offering evidence that the past, present, and future truly exist simultaneously. The idea of differing future and past time lines is not just science fiction.

It doesn't really matter anyway how wide or shallow such habitable zone is.
None whatsoever. It's just another complication in the 'what's possible' fantasy.

My power over men has caused some problems at times....lol........that^^^ book is one among many on the subject of remote viewing...
