Girl, Mississippi, burned to death by 2

^Your first signature line about sums up the solution. Sometimes our justice system is far too nice and we long for the medieval days.

Some criminals just need to be tortured to death. This particular murderer fits the requirements.

Something similar happened in Kansas last month.

WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The woman who died after being raped, beaten, and set on fire in a Wichita, Kansas, park last week originally hailed from northeast Kansas.

Thirty-six year-old Letitia Davis died on Saturday, a little more than a week after she was attacked in Wichita's Fairmont Park.
I'm with Quad on this one, cruel and unusual is in order.

Horrible. At least their making her suffer will hopefully lead to their capture.

This is exactly the kind of cruel torture all you punishment freaks want to see more of. Will you be applauding it if it turns out she commited a crime recently?

Good thing the people in charge are grownups and not impotent, emotionalistic internet tough guys.
I love living in a free, safe and functional society. I'm glad we don't try to emulate 3rd world crapholes, and I'm glad our justice system is aimed at reducing crime rather than placating the plebs' whiney bloodlust.

I note this, though the idea of her committing a crime doesn't affect my understanding much.

I have a very hard time even imagining wanting to set someone on fire. It doesn't seem to me as if it would be any fun. Setting fireworks on fire is great, of course, but not people. On the other hand, whatever kind of fun that people get from setting people on fire does seem to fit the pattern of the same kind of fun that people would get from punishing them and that they do get by imagining how they would do it.

That sort of thing can be appealing and escapist in a loud, violent Hollywood movie, like when Arnie says "screw you" with the drill on Mars, but for realsies?

Outside of terrorists(having such done to them would indeed bring a laugh from me) I often wonder why so many people think it is "fun" for those of us who want justice. It is not justice to put a "person" who does what was done to that girl. in jail for a while (even a long while (and so many have forgotten that the law is not at all the same as justice)) or even painlessly execute them. At a minimum they should have done to them what they did to the victim - with time to let them how bad it was to do it sink in. I admit I would like to see them walk along something while burning - because Justice would be done for their victim. I tend to suspect that many who do not choose actual justice are religious and believe justice will come when they die and wake up in hell. It won't, neither of those beloved places, so necessary for some, exists. It's all in this life and they stole/destroyed hers and it should happen to theirs. No balance otherwise.

Apologies - somehow it duplicated (did not give me the message this was repeat.........)

Surely if setting fire to someone is ok under certain circumstances then the correct response isn't to be outraged but to try and find out if she had fulfilled those circumstances. Because then it would be ok right?

And nothing but the deafening sound of crickets from the guys who advocate this kind of brutal torture.

Could you explain the straw man better so I can play? I'm perfectly happy to be whatever unjustified stereotype you have in mind, I just need a bit more in the way of stage directions.

That people who regularly advocate torturing people have no place being outraged about people being tortured.
It's only a strawman if I'm making it up. Do you really believe that people don't advocate for torture on this site because I can get some quotes for you if you want.
