Jim Fetzer & Conspiracies

Or maybe the debris had guidance systems to bring it to the right spot? :boggled:

And, perhaps, the positively identified body parts of the unfortunate passengers of Flight 77 were delivered by the same method to the building and discovered therein............

IMO Fetzer's statement here ranks with the "best" Stundie but I wouldn't dignify it with even that.

Pathetic.

HERE you'll find one of his interminable blog articles which help to sum up the usual Fetzer output. It is a typical mish-mash of conjecture, speculation, assumption and the outright fabrication of fact.

A particularly amusing example:-

It would have been difficult to have had officers and enlisted men carry pieces of debris out onto the lawn without being observed, so it has occurred to me that perhaps it was dropped from a C-130, which was circling the Pentagon that morning. That’s my best guess. I am open to other possibilities, but I haven’t been able to think of real alternatives.

My bold.

The "I haven’t been able to think of real alternatives" bit is also pretty revealing as to the hard-core CTist mindset. These are folks to whom "aconspiracydidit!" is the default explanation for pretty much anything, and any alternative that doesn't assume one is, literally, unthinkable. So they end up positing even something as ridiculous as a C-130 dropping, with unerring precision and without being noticed, plane and body parts on and into the Pentagon to fake a plane crash, in forced preference to the idea that a plane might have actually, you know, crashed there.

Just another example of the point discussed above- the piling up of un-evidenced scenarios which have no support except their necessity for the conclusion they rest on (rather than lead to), the assumption of "conspiracy!" with no alternative allowed.

Because a government that wants to make it look like a plane crashed into a large building naturally comes to the conclusion that the easiest, most foolproof way to fake it is to hti the side of the building with a missile, and then drop plane parts out of another plane without anyone noticing, becuase no one would believe that someone could fly a large plane into the building.

Yup, that's the inertia of woo- you can't simply stop with the (comparatively) reasonable assumption that Teh Evil Gubmint would have crashed an actual plane into the building to achieve their nefarious ends; you must, by momentum, proceed to the assumption that they would have faked what the real thing would have accomplished. The mind is a restless monkey.

I wonder if Dr Fetzer is reading any of this?

Because even sillier once you realize that, if no-one would believe that someone could fly a plane into the building, a conspiracy that tried to pretend someone flew a plane into the building would be an extremely stupid plan, because nobody would believe it.

I doubt it. He avoids reading anything that dares to disagree with him unless he can find a way to ridicule it.

I especially like the part where they're dropping part from a plane in the flight path of a major airport before air traffic had been grounded.

To be fair, they have to keep doing this, since most of what got them into the "conspiracy did it" mind set in the first place is the things that "don't look right" to them in pictures and videos of the event, and its aftermath.

If they were to admit that an actual plane actually crashed, they'd have to admit that all the evidence that originally drew them into the CT mindset was nothing more than a product of their own misconceptions, which is something they are apparently fundamentally incapable of admitting. How many times have we seen a CT double down on the stupid, rather than admit to an error, no matter how small?

Exactly- the inertia of woo means that you must keep jumping, from an initial premise that is never questioned, to a scenario that supports it, and then the next after that, and so on; momentum gives you no choice.

He came here to defend against what he felt was an unfair characterization of his tactics. And in doing so proved quite accurately that those were indeed his tactics.

It must be discouraging to have so little faith in your own beliefs to never go anywhere where they may be challenged.

Ah, but you see, the sheeple will believe it, and that's who they need to fool.
