I assume that not only women but anyone getting dead drunk on events they help organize has issues. Well maybe now you can help explain something. That is very interesting! Can you tell me a little more about these "issues" you speak of? Must the drinker be both a woman and at a conference in order for you to be able to diagnose these issues?
In August 2008, two months after the incident with Shermer at TAM, Alison Smith was on a panel with Shermer at Dragon*Con. She also met him the evening before, as she has been telling on her blog. She chose to put a photo on that blog showing her, Shermer (putting a hand on her shoulder), and two other men (who appear to be S. Hurst and J. Wagg). She chose to describe the encounter like this:
http://remievandeross.tripod.com/reports/travels/dragoncon2008.htmlI’m getting ahead of myself, though. We’re still on that first night in the Marriot, where I spent another lovely portion of the evening with Dr. Michael Shermer of the Skeptic’s Society, photography whiz and longtime friend of the JREF Scott Hurst, and Jeff Wagg, General Manager of the JREF and SAPS Member. It was a blast. Truly.
I'm curious, is having "a blast" with Shermer on another party night two months after TAM another of her subtle methods to teach Shermer of his wrong ways?
