Hoft gave a shout out today to Ann Coulter, who specifically said this:

He also crudely crossed out the identifying marks that would have shown the X-Ray was from 2007 in Iowa. I'm not sure he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

If so, as you report, then he deserves no benefit of doubt. Sounds like he tried to pass it off as a scoop, the scan nobody else has!
Though I've no clue how he would legitimately obtain it, with HIPAA laws and all.

Quote me giving it credence.

I was responding to Bikewer, who DID give it credence. Then you countered that there was no need to demonize Brown since he was such a bad person anyway. To which I responded that the relevant part is that people are making things up and passing them as fact, and people are believing the lies. Witness the "orbital fracture" lie from Jim Hoft, and the phony picture lie from the Kansas cop.

So after all the lectures about what terrible skeptics we are, you're now admonishing me not to spend too much time pointing out lies?

That image is a fake. There's so much effort out there to demonize Brown. I have to wonder why people are so invested in it.

That one is, but this one isn't..

Thug....

I'm reading that they're saying the report is in dispute.

According to Julian Cummings it's false:

Reports that Ofc Darren Wilson had a bruised or fractured eye socket are false. #ferguson A source close to the investigation tells CNN

Wilson was taken to the hospital after the shooting. He had xrays which came back negative. He was treated for a swollen face. #ferguson

Oh!
Sorry. I was confused because you quoted me.
My mistake! Your response to Bikewer should have quoted Bikewer.

Good.

Onward!

Now what about the shot/shots at Brown while he was fleeing?

I'm thinking one at the most. Any more fired from behind have to have missed, and we already have 6 or 8 shots hitting brown from the front.

If we had 3 or 4 from behind, then we must have had a total number of shots fired around 10 or 12, and that doesn't seem to fit any account.

Well that certainly negates the truth of that image,,,

I'll get back to you when I have something better...

I thought this was about the truth of why and how Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown, not whether or not he was a nice guy or stole cigarellos in an unrelated event? Michael Brown could have just come from a baby eating feast in which he topped off his meal with puppy and kitten gravy, and the relevant question is still whether or not Darren Wilson was justified in killing him when and how he did.

That Jim Hoft would attempt such an easily detected fraud proves he might well deserve what "The Wonkette" calls him"Stupidest Man On the Internet.

But you felt it relevant to go " neener, neener, neener " with an obviously fake image...

Did you think we all fell for that ?

For what it's worth, I don't think the killing was justified, but I also don't think Wilson thought he was killing an innocent man in cold blood...

Not if cops always look at you suspiciously. It would be normal cop behavior. Plus, the cop only yells at them about being in the road at first, so they don't think it's about the robbery.

Now when the officer aggressively backs up and cuts them off, they might well have thought they had been made.

Yes, this. At that point it would be an entirely reasonable assumption that the cop was on to them, whether he actually was or not.
