Continuation Part Nine: Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito

I've made up that recently tweeted quote ? Really?

And as for Giacomo Silenzi... see his interview for the Daily Mail.
-----

You're referring to this interview, I presume:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...moment-suspected-Foxy-Knoxy-killed-lover.html

If so, it looks to me like a textbook example of a common phenomenon: person A is killed; the police charge person B with person A's murder; person C (often a friend of the victim) announces that they "always knew/suspected" that person B was the killer.

Any disinterested reading of this strange interview leads to the clear conclusion that Silenzi's opinion about Knox was entirely guided by the new knowledge that the police had arrested her for the murder, and then a textbook retrofit. I can be highly confident that if Silenzi had been asked who had killed Kercher on 5th November, Knox wouldn't have featured high on his list, if she'd even featured at all. It's abundantly clear from this interview that Silenzi assumes the police have caught the right person (people), and starts from that in his ex-post-facto reappraisal of Knox.

I would say that I wonder what Silenzi now feels about Knox's guilt, but in fact it's of minimal importance or interest what he might think. But if you want to use his (obviously tainted) PoV from this interview as a datum point on the side of guilt, then go right ahead. Let's just say it won't be your finest argument intellectually-speaking though :)

This is very confusing.... are you saying Cristina is crazy for tweeting announcements from a non-existent tabloid? Or are you saying that there is even the most remote scintilla of evidence of a "drug connection"?

The Daily Mail hired a Los Angeles tabloid photographer to stalk Knox in Seattle. He got a picture of Knox handing her boyfriend some case. On that basis the DM reported that Knox was asking her boyfriend to buy cocaine.

Machiavelli has written in this very thread that Knox traded sex for drugs - and that this practise was very common among the student population in Perugia.

The one thing missing, as always, in any evidence which even remotely suggests this. Machiavelli himself when pushed retreats to saying, "I'm only suggesting that this is compatible with what could be."

One day a guilter is going to have something other than titillating innuendo. We can hope.

I wouldn't count on it Bill. If they did they wouldn't be a guilter. There is no evidence so all they can peddle is speculation and innuendo. That their theories are compatible with reality or in other words merely possible. As in a trip to Alpha Centauri is possible. There isn't a shred of proof that Amanda took anything but marijuana. No drug tests. But of course there is no proof that Amanda was involved in the murder of Meredith Kercher.

Hell, they don't actually name the so called drug dealer supposedly in her phone. Or his long sheet of arrests for drug dealing. Because as we all know, given their defense of Rudy Guede, they are picky about proof.

What's strange is I've known lots of drug users and dealers. And Amanda has never seemed at all like a person who has had any problem with drugs. At most, they can actually prove is that Amanda smoked a little pot. Hardly any more incriminating than if Amanda had a glass of wine.

But of course, these are the same people that said Amanda was a menace to her neighbors and her criminal background was well known to the Seattle Police. Turned out that it was noise ticket for a party that got a little too loud.

What happens when we click our heels Vibio? Do you disappear?

The problem for you is that we don't say that. Raffaele does.

Vibio - your posts are in the grand tradition of Peter Quennell of TJMK, the fellow who puts together travelogues of Perugia, called, "What Meredith would be seeing of her beloved Italy if she were alive."

Quennell has posted at length since he started about how people within the various families will soon turn on each other.

He started on Knox, saying that once she got her hands on all that money from the book, that everyone on "Team Knox" would have their hands out, and those who were not paid for their support would turn on her.

What NEVER happens is a retraction from guilters when their prediction of doom never comes true.

I believe (but could have this wrong, because there have been so many), that one guilter (Quennell) said that the "uneasy truce between Knox and Sollecito" would be broken when Raffaele published his "tell-all" book.

What did not happen was a retraction when Raffaele's book came out, and it protested both their innocence and their obvious innocence.

Vibio - are you willing to retract your innuendo if it does not come true? I mean, this is precisely what is wrong with the guilter mindset.... it actually doesn't matter to you that Raffaele was clear in his statement....

...... because you know what he REALLY thinks!

It's hard to argue with that kind of clairvoyance. (Can you tell me what I am REALLY thinking right now?)

This is where you are out to lunch, acbytelsa.

Below is a picture of that "party that got a little too loud." "A little too loud," my ass. It was a flipping war zone at that party....

So, let's see now... among the people who believe Knox is guilty, there is:

The family of the murder victim.

The boyfriend of the murder victim.

The friends of the murder victim.

And now, to that list we can add the family of Raffaelle Sollecito.

Team Sollecito's Cristina Magnani tweets the following today:

"Ho pensato x 7anni che la KNOX fosse innocente. Alla luce dei fatti emersi nell'ultimo anno penso abbia avuto un ruolo"

"I've thought for the last 7 years that Knox was innocent, but in the light of facts that have emerged in the least year, I think she had a role".

Can Raff's announcement be far behind?

Vibio, don't put too much importance in Sollecito's cousin's thoughts. Many people - even relatives of good, honorable people - have anxiety or other forms of personality disorders or suffer from more serious forms of mental illness. Few large family groups are free of someone with such problems.

I mean all the foregoing as a serious comment; not a flippant dig at the guilters. The media did quite a hatchet job on the defendants and impaired many people's ability to rationally assess the court case. Relatives of any of the victims in the case - Meredith, Amanda, and Raffaele - are caught up due to emotional factors.

Even some judges believe that things occurred in a way that scientific evidence proves could not have occurred. That is why one has to withhold or distort data.

May I now switch topics and ask for your assistance to understand something about the processing of the crime scene. You are very good or fluent in Italian. Please help us learn what happened to the two possible hairs that were photographed in the victim's grip and near her crotch. The crime scene was under Mignini's and Stefanoni's control the last time the two hairs were seen. What happened to them?

I know nothing about that so I can't comment on it.

As far as your comments about Magnani: "even relatives of good, honorable people - have anxiety or other forms of personality disorders or suffer from more serious forms of mental illness.".

Nah.

And if Francesco Sollecito was disapproving they would be silenced in a minute. You have to understand hierarchical Southern Italian families.

Sollecito is seen and photographed with Magnani and Achille. Is obviously quite comfortable with them. Achille even escorted him to and from the Court.

What? Some irrelevant, simple-minded people think she's guilty? Well, in that case I am changing my mind. Oh wait - it's nothing new so I can go back to basing my opinion on the total lack of evidence.

I have no idea. I could come up with theories.

But one thing for sure IMHO: it's a smear campaign being carried out by the Sollecitos.

If this is your opinion, then you are entitled to your opinion. Case closed. You don't need to source this, you don't need to make a logical argument to determine it.... if it is your opinion, great!

If opinions are the coin of the realm, though, my own opinion is that the smear campaign is actually being promulgated by guilters.

Since 2008, various guilters of various stripes have themselves ventured opinions that soon and very soon either Amanda or Raffaele was going to turn on the other.

What is not a matter of opinion (except perhaps for his own) is what Raffaele himself writes in his book. Raffaele writes that some members of his family put pressure on him (while he was in jail) to turn on Knox.

He never did, nor will he..... but then again, as I said in a previous post....

..... despite what he says in his book, and what he said at and after the press conference, you know what he REALLY thinks.

I would not comment on that claim if it was not the problem from the git-go. At his own interrogation starting late evening Nov 5, 2007, not only would they not get Raffaele a lawyer, they also would not get him a calendar.

They, then, thought they knew what Raffaele was REALLY thinking - that he'd just pulled his alibi from Knox.

This has been the problem since from the start. My wish is that people would stop with this style of thinking, and actually examine evidence.

But that's just me.

Desert Fox...what does my post have to do with guilt or innocence? What does it have to do with "sources"? Sources about what?

My posts about Magnani... reread them... could have been written by someone who feels Knox is innocent.

They are about Magnani and what she's doing and my belief that it's all very intentional... but it has nothing to do with guilt or innocence.

In every case there is somebody who believes something nutty. . . .
I care about what the evidence says. That is what I am here to discuss and you give a skeptic forum disservice by not discussing evidence.

The recent Ground Report article also received plenty of discussion here.

I will continue to post developments on this PR assault of which Magnani is doing her part.

It is entirely appropriate to the thread.

If you don't like it, then you can ignore the posts.

Right, this nonsense is important.....

I am not the only poster here who wants to discuss facts not what is written in tabloids. Doesn't sound like many generally are much interested in rumor and gossip.

Of course we can always discuss batboy :boxedin:

The facts? Like Migninni saying the interrogation was not recorded because of budget cuts to Stefony lying on the stand, to the Lying Squad's obstinate behavior, to the guilters, to the Tailban Courtrooms... to Edgardo Giobbi gloating on video how he solves crimes using his gut instinct and doesnt need any other inputs, those kind of facts?

Or a superwitness whose a known nutcase heroin addict, who testify's for the Perugia police when asked...then dies while in the police custody strangely immediately after embarrassing the Prosecutions entire vindictive case?

This case seems to be short on facts, even the Forensic facts were found to be so compromised the entire court room was laughing out loud, as they passed the bra clasp around in some pretend discovery video.

that leaves the facts with the human nature of guilters who want to jump up and down in the town square as the guillotine event occurs.

now its up to some men wearing white little wigs in red robes who probably don't know what RFU stands for.

As much as I don't like how the Italian court / legal system seems to be working, I don't think it is apt to compare the court to the Taliban and Sharia law.

While I agree with the essence of your post DF. I do tend to think that perspective matters.

For example, my father use to say the difference between a recession and a depression is that it's "a recession" when your neighbor loses his job and "a depression" is when you lose yours!!

.... or Mignini closing down Frank Sfarzo's website, Perugia Shock? Or Mignini suing Curt and Edda for defamation for The Telegraph's John Follain quoting them repeating the claim Knox had been hit at interrogation - but Mignini not including either The Telegraph or John Follain in the suit?

What about Machiavelli claiming that he knows the amount in Euros it took to bribe Judge Hellmann to acquit the pair, because of a Masonic-mediated conspiracy? What about Machiavelli claiming that Knox could choose not to sleep, and therefore suffered no sleep deprivation issues heading into the all-night interrogation? Or Machiavelli claiming that Amanda and Edda spoke in "mafia code" to each other, all to send a message to Raffaele not to rat her out? Or Machiavelli claiming that all of Seattle practised the Mafia code of Omertà (code of silence) in keeping secret Knox's April Fools' prank?

Or Peter Quennell saying that his website, TJMK, employs 100s of lawyers? Or PMF.NET's moderator Michael saying he has a copy of the bleach receipt on his site?

Or PMF.ORG and PMF.NET splitting over the colour of the background they employ.... black for .NET and grey for .ORG? Or Peter Quennell publishing travelogues of what Meredith would see in Perugia if she were still alive?

Or Knox being ridiculed for accusing one of the male guards at her prison for sexually harrassing her, until he is eventually charged himself? Or Napoleoni herself being suspended from service for accessing police data in a custody dispute she was involved in?

Or Judge Nencini essentially arguing that women have Y-genetic material? Or the ISC ordering that the Florence court reconsider the sex-game-gone-wrong theory, but new prosecutor Crini advances the "she killed Meredith over pooh in the toilet" theory, and then Nencini invents out of whole cloth yet another theory, essentially believing Rudy Guede - the sole source of the claim - that Amanda and Meredith were arguing over rent money?

Or Nencini admitting the day after the Florence conviction that he, essentially, had to convince the lay-judges to vote for conviction, because they were hearing contrary facts on T.V.? Or Nencini saying that if Sollecito had allowed himself to be cross examined, it would have gone easier on him.....

Or Nencini writing in his motivations report that Sollecito's DNA was found on the blade of the knife.... a claim no one, not Stefanoni, not Mignini, not Comodi, not Massei, and not new prosecutor Crini had ever, ever even hinted at or implied?

Or Massei inventing out of whole cloth that Amanda carried that knife from Raffaele's "for protection", again something no one had even mentioned, much less entered into evidence at trial?

It goes on and on....

Other than that, it was a rock solid conviction.
