I'm calling to report a Bigfoot hoaxer outside my trailer.
What is he doing?
He's throwing rocks at my trailer.
What makes you think he's a Bigfoot hoaxer?
Because that's what Bigfoots do.

OMG - more than five times as many native Americans. So more than six times the total population as was alleged!

The general rule is that there were order of magnitude more before various diseases wiped them out too. It's more on the order of ten times the number cited, minimum, and probably a lot more than that in terms of population before the great Indian Plagues.

Pterodactyl - you never know where the science is going to lead you. In prior times, even here at this forum, the battle ground was in natural science. So the skeptic did all he could to demand evidence, and respond to all of these canards about vast unexplored areas of the US, Indian Legends hijacked by the unscrupulous, etc.

But more recently the battleground has moved. 'Footers had a tremendous advantage over skeptics that they did not really understand: The skeptic by nature wants to convince the 'footer that his belief cannot be true. So in vain he systematically addresses every logical fallacy thrown out there as bait for him, and yet he can never convince the 'footer no matter how much logic or data he puts in front of them.

Because they don't believe in the first place. Once you realize that, your eyes are opened up to the game they have been playing with you. One that they always win because the game is role-playing, and when coming to JREF you are the puppet-master of others. Some of them may have PhD's, but they're not so smart. Smart is toying with a PhD natural scientist who has 25 years of academics and experience over you.

Now of course that isn't the only person in the game with you. There are other 'footers we game with and casual non-interested acquaintances of ours, the big names in field, Mommy and Daddy, etc. And we play our hand a little differently to all of them.

That's interesting. Brian Brown is a founder of BFF, and the nature of the thread tells us it was important to marketing. Wasn't it a mainstay of the forum for some time?

What is the useful life for a BLAARGing hoax? Depends on a lot of factors, but when the credibility gap (distance between claims and evidence) gets too big, it can't sustain itself.

Plausible deniability (we aren't pretending, it really is a plausible belief) depends on 'footers themselves showing they are "skeptical" of something.

I think they've been down there since 2006, so this is a remarkable run.

I never got the impression that the vast majority of the BFF membership bought into BB's story for that very reason.
 
These are the instances that confirm the BLAARGing diagnosis. How could any reasonable thinking person allow 8 years to pass and not require even a single shred of anything (beyond words) to prove anything they were saying? If it's a real life scenario, to "wait it out" like that would require an amount of stupid no one single human could possibly possess. But as part of the "playing of a game", even when one doesn't necessarily know all the rules, it makes far more sense. Somebody has to play "the faithful" parts.
 
When they began it was a trail cam stunt. A number of these were going on, and I think Wally Hersom funded one in the Pacific Northwest. Forget the name, but that's how it goes, from gimmick to gimmick, and it dies out.

After years of no trail cam pics they morphed into... this habituation thing that is imploding.
 
During my short stint over there, I had several private PM's conversations with members who said this group ( whatever name they are going by now, who knows?) is notorious for not producing any quasi evidence; be that casts, blobsquatches, or anything else to back up their claims. I can't imagine why there would be any discussion about the 100 acre woods at this point, maybe they can snap a shot of Eeyore or Piglet to boost interest.

Rubber gloves so as not to leave finger prints on the casts.
Zip Lock baggies for the kind bud.
Tweezers for bee stings.
Magnifying glass to distract you from seeing the big picture.
Tape measure to see how long you are in the woods or to check how tall the tale is.
Camera set to blurry.
Sharpie to circle blobs on blurred photos.
Hydracal to pour in old distorted animal tracks or stomper depressions.
GPS to pinpoint within a foot where there are no bigfoots.
Yup. All the gear you need.

Ban Members of the JREF Forums
As a great man once said, “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.” The most active and vociferous members of that site, not being actual skeptics at all, are fundamentally incompatible with any interaction seeking further understanding of the bigfoot phenomenon. Period. They have the truth. They are not seeking it. Members of the BFF should be made to choose which site to affiliate with. Anyone found to be a active member of the JREF after this choice while still participating on the BFF should be banned.

It's obvious that Donn is DWA. He ironically calls me, you, Jerry and others trolls. He lives in his little fantasy bubble where NAWAC is doing bleeding edge science. It's pathetic. It's too bad he didn't actually decide to stay away from the BFF. He continues to spread manure there daily.
