I suspect only a finite subset was getting direct sunlight, the rest was at an angle, and the other side of the capsule got zero sunlight.

Thus, less than half the capsule (ideally) got direct sunlight. Do you understand angles? Do you live in a flat world, a one sided earth, a Bizarro world of flatness.

Based on your logic,,, The earth travels through the Universe and the earth has direct sunlight during the whole flight. lol, you really don't like science - how did you avoid science, logic and critical thinking skills so effectively. Wonder why the poles which get the sun all day long are not really hot for that part of the year...

Don't you know about the dark side of the capsule - the dark side? Anything?

How do you think up these super stupid claims.

If Lindman is going to see the light, or if he in fact wants to see the light should be by now perfectly manifest. There are no physics which would explain why U.S. astronauts could not land six spacecraft on the moon with their crews and return the same to earth. Russian cinematographers at Aulis, for reasons that are known to them, wisely choose to ignore the physics. One need only ask the question, why?

Why would there be? Really, big part of this comes down to heat versus temperature. Same reason you can scald yourself with boiling water, but stick your hand inside a much hotter oven without injury. Or same reason an igloo makes sense, and you can even have a fire inside one. The heat shield didn't have a significant heat capacity, nor would you expect one to.
