You have a good point. When I talked to Paul Thompson in Janaury 2007, he was worried about the exact same thing. But once this information was posted the internet, again what could they do. Our saftey in my opinion depended on getting this information on the internet as soon as possible.
This is very hard to tell. I still have no answer why the CIA was hiding the information on Khalid al-Mihdhar from the FBI. It could have been because both Mihdhar and Ali_Mohamed had taken part in planning the east Africa bombings, and the CIA did not want the FBI digging up this connection, but this is pure speculation on my part. As far as I know, once Mohamed was arrested by the FBI after the east African bombings, he has completely disappeared into the system, never to be heard from again.
But then again why did they publicly release the information that you posted on the internet ?

He makes the dumbest comments on the timeline, as if he was an idiot - the cool part, all the references on Paul's timeline debunk 911 truth as nuts, and expose their cherry picking quote mining failed logic and shallow research.

We are amused.
Paul Thompson just put main stream media articles on his 9/11 time and never came to any conclusions on this material. He even stated that he wanted readers to draw their own conclusions and that in fact he was not going to draw any conclusions from his material.
But I had two issues with his time line. One it has a enormous amount of information, information not arranged to in a coherent fashion to allow anyone to be able connect the dots, just descriptions of a lot of bizarre behavior at the CIA and FBI HQs.
Second his material was almost all from main stream media, and in my opinion, many times main stream media had the story 180 degrees from the truth.
My material came almost entirely from official US government documents on the investigations on the attack on 9/11. These included the DOJ IG report on the FBI, just prior to the attacks on 9/11, the CIA IG executive summary of the CIA IG report on the CIA actions with respect to the attacks on 9/11, the report and testimony from the Joint Inquiry Committee on 9/11, the defense exhibits entered into the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, and even some information from the 9/11 Commission report, although I found this report so deliberately obfuscated it was very hard to see from this report what had taken place.
I also used material from other sources, magazine articles, and book that had information that appeared in no government document: the article by Lawrence Wright in the July 10-17, 2006 New Yorker article on FBI Agent Ali Soufan, the Agent that almost stopped the attacks on 9/11, the book by Bob Woodward, "State of Denial", that described the July 10, 2001 meeting at the White House where Condoleezza Rice John Hadley and Richard Clarke were they were told by Blee, Black and Tenet, that an huge al Qaeda terrorist attack was just about to take place inside of the US, the January 2007 article in Harpers by Ken Silverstein, entitled “Meet the new CIA Baghdad CIA Chief aka, “James”. It was immediately obvious from this article that the new CIA Bagdad Chief was none other than Richard Blee, who had been head of the CIA bin Laden unit just prior and during the attacks on 9/11, the one unit who along with CTC head Cofer Black and CIA Director George Tenet were later found to had orchestrated actions that had allowed the attacks on 9/11 to take place by sabotaging all criminal investigations of al Qaeda terrorists found inside the US just prior to the attacks on 9/11.
Many of these reports had information that was contradictory, but I sorted out the most accurate information by comparing the different reports and finding the ones with the most complete information. When this did not work I actually called agents at the FBI and asked these agents questions to clarify the account on 9/11. Note: I never and I repeat never asked any FBI agent for any information that might have been classified in any way, just which main stream media account was correct. In many cases I was told that they could not discuss this information. But in this case I simply went to a different question that would give me the information I wanted. When I was asking question "A" I was actually trying to get an answer for question "B", and in almost all cases I got the most accurate answer directly from the FBI agents, that I had been looking for.
One could argue that some of this information might have inaccurate. But I cross checked all of my information, from several thousand pages of material I had aggregated, to insure that essentially the same information could be found in several independent sources either at the government or the other sources I sited and then corroborated by FBI agents still at the FBI.
This effort actually took several years, and even today I am still finding significant and critical information that had never come to light before, like the Guantanamo Charge sheet for Hambali, which details the fact that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed had been at the Kuala Lumpur al Qaeda planning meeting right with Mihdhar and Hazmi planning the attacks of 9/11.
The CIA had this information from January 8, 2000, and yet has kept it completely secret, in fact going so far as to set up a special prison outside of the US, Guantanamo, to hold trials for the high value prisoners, where no testimony will be allowed to be heard outside of the court room until after a 40 second delay.
Why this extreme secrecy? To protect the US and its national security secrets? What secrets are there 13 years after the attacks on 9/11 that these al Qaeda terrorists are aware of that are so significant that no words can ever be heard in real time from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed or any of the other high value al Qaeda terrorists?
NO, to protect the CIA, and to try these “high value terrorists” who knew that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed had been at the Kuala Lumpur al Qaeda planning meeting planning the attacks on 9/11, and then execute them before this information ever gets back to the American people.
Most of the formation I found was from the government investigations on 9/11. This information was released in an attempt to prove to the American people that a complete a impartial investigation on the 9/11 attacks had been held, and that no government employees had under taken any actions, in particular at the CIA or at FBI HQ, that had allowed the al Qaeda terrorists to carry out the attacks on 9/11. [NOTE: See the still unanswered questions from my post #487.]
But the horrific fact is that the reports from these investigations were deliberately obfuscated, to hide fact that both the CIA and FBI HQ allowed the al Qaeda terrorists to carry out the attacks on 9/11, by people at the CIA, and FBI HQ, who had lied or obfuscated information to the FBI and FBI DOJ IG investigators, in some cases this infomation was obfuscated by the DOJ IG investigators themselves.
However, after I put the information together on the intelligence information prior to the attacks on 9/11, it was easy to see exactly where this information had been criminally obfuscated.

Hilarious post! The context is unknown by the public due to secrecy. The way it works is if you obstruct al Qaeda investigations your conduct is classified until 2078 and the media won't ask you for a credible explanation.
Nobody in the government has ever explained the al-Mihdhar disconnect. What was the point of urgent warnings of an attack while withholding crucial info on the perps?
