Sandra Fluke running for office

She's going to get crushed in the primary.

I forgot, California has that crazy open primary system where the top two vote-getters move on even if they are from the same party. She could easily finish second and get a shot in November.

I'd vote for her, though having the first woman in the Oval Office be President Fluke is something that would be called unbelievable if in fiction.

Maybe she could get married (and make some cookies?) and have a less humorous name for historical purposes. I wonder if William UpYoursRush is looking for a spouse.

Close for the second runoff spot:

Democrat Ben Allen, a two-term member of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, was leading the race Tuesday night to succeed Ted Lieu in the state Senate.

With mail-in ballots counted and about 33 percent of precincts reporting, Allen had 22.1 percent of the vote in the 26th Senate District. Democrat Sandra Fluke was second with 18.7 percent, while independent Seth Stodder was third with 18.5 percent. Democrat Betsy Butler, a former state Assembly member, had 16.8 percent and Manhattan Beach Mayor Amy Howorth, also a Democrat, had 15.1 percent.

Looks like she made the runoff.

Democrats Ben Allen and Sandra Fluke traveled vastly different political paths to finish atop the large field in Tuesday’s primary election for the South Bay Senate seat vacated by Ted Lieu.

Allen, a two-term member of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, was the top vote-getter in the 26th Senate District with 21.9 percent of the vote. Fluke, a West Hollywood attorney who gained notoriety after she was attacked by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, came in second with 19.4 percent.

Independent Seth Stodder was third with 17.7 percent of the vote.

I seem to recall that Limbaugh was doomed to be removed from the radio because of an advertiser boycott.

Did that not happen? He was losing like ten accounts a day for a while there. Isn't he gone yet? My radio doesn't even have an AM band, so I'm genuinely curious. :boxedin:
Limbaugh hasn't regained any sponsors and the number of active non-sponsors continues to grow. To the best of my knowledge, his show does not have a single national sponsor. However, there have been local sponsors that aired in his time-slot without their knowledge. When notified of this, they insist that the radio stations not do this. There have also been cases where past commercials were recycled without any payment to make it appear that he has sponsors. And, they were told to stop doing this as well. In other words, they can't even give away commercial slots. His show is basically living on the credit of Clear Channel with some support from the Koch brothers. And since Clear Channel is something like $14 billion in debt, there is a race as to whether the Koch brothers will drop him first or CC will go bankrupt. There is serious doubt that CC can last until 2016. However, in general, there continues to be a steady decline of talk radio.
