Split Thread Scorpion's Spiritualism

Discussion of mstricky's claims moved here. Given that this thread has already had to be split as a derail of another one, maybe we could try to keep it at least vaguely on topic?

I believe there is only one God, and I don't believe in Goblins. But there are said to be many lifeforms on the astral plane that never incarnate, so there might be Goblins.

I am quite interested in science and I have qualifications in electronics, and Microprocessors.

Tell me more about your god.

The theory is that clairvoyants see into higher worlds by using the eyes in their higher bodies (astral and mental bodies). These visions are channeled down into the brain through the brow chakra. (called the third eye)

That's not a theory, it's a fantasy. There are no such things as clairvoyants, so how a clairvoyant has power or uses power is only as relevant to the world as the big debate "who would win a fight between the Hulk and Superman."

Scorpion, how do you envision or describe the soul? What is it made out of? Does it reside in a specific place in the body? Is it permanently bound to the body while the body is alive, and where does it go after the body dies?

I think God is a vast formless mind that contains us all as part of himself.
Everything is from God and everything, and everyone ultimately return to God.

That would mean that it's all completely meaningless.

Great questions. I'm sure he has answers. I wonder if the soul is responsible for a person's personality/demeanor.

According to Theosphy the soul is a formless bubble of energy which contains our consciousness, and all our memories of past lives. It is God within God separated from the God mind by the energy bubble which is called the causal body. But since we cannot function in a formless body we have several lower bodies that we inhabit that are called the mental and the astral and the physical body. There is an interpenetrating shell between the higher bodies and the physical, and it is called the etheric body. Conciousness is channeled down into the brain through energy centers in the etheric body called chakras. We may be able to astral travel while still alive. That is leave the body for a time but still be connected to it, which may explain NDE. After we die we go to higher planes, and reside in the one our spiritual evolution equips us for. We stay in the spirit world until deciding it is necessary to reincarnate.

Thanks for that reply. I honestly don't know where to begin to explain the problems relative to the scientific model, so I will not.

But I want you to realize how many people out there, like mtricky, have provided stories that may have convinced you of the correctness of your theories, but who may not be truly presenting the facts. People may lie to you. Realize this and be very skeptical of anecdotes. Your own memory and perception may be lying to you.

So Theosophy is just another name for Jabbanetics® then?

Jeepers.

The theory is the third eye is the brow chakra in the etheric body. What you do is open it so that it channels vision down from the eyes in your higher bodies, and into your brain.

Why not give it a try yourself? You people are always talking about what is testable, and if we all have a spirit, then we might all be able to open our chakras.

1. The "brow chakra" is, demonstrably, not an anatomical feature of the human body.

2. The "etheric body" either does not exist, or is not composed of matter and energy (which means it might as well not exist, as, being composed of somethinng other than matter and energy, it could not interact with matter or energy).

3. Ditto the "higher bodies".

Do feel free, however, to provide evidence. Evidence can be tested...
"Bodies" that neither exist in, nor interact with, "this plain" are not subject to reality-based testing (that's a polite way of calling the whole "etheric body" thing "hooey").

The theory...

You may be using this word in away that does not conform to its actual meaning...

...is that clairvoyants...

No such thing has ever been demonstrated; nor has a mechanism by which such things ever been testably proposed, much less demonstrated.

...see into higher worlds...

Such higher worlds cannot be demonstrated to exist; and if they exist as proposed, they are, by the very nature claimed for them, incapable of interacting with this world, reality.

... by using the eyes in their higher bodies (astral and mental bodies).

I invite you to proffer concrete, non-anecdotal, empirical, practical, physical, objective evidence that either could actually exist; to say nothing of whether either does actually exist.

These visions are channeled down into the brain through the brow chakra. (called the third eye)

There are no such structures as "chakras" in the human body. No one with the slightest exposure to anatomy and physiology refers to the "brow chakra" as the "third eye" (or, for that matter, refers to any "chakra" at all).

It Transcends to that Great Data Base in the sky, where all good data goes bye and bye, where the trends always match and there's never a catch and we'll all eat big bytes of pie.

...and the drive covers latch, and the runs all batch, and the discs don't scratch, in the Gig system in the sky...
