Yo, Taxi !!!

For that price, get a first class ticket - at least you'll get a meal (and maybe some of those awesome warm nuts...you know, the kind you eat :p ).

Reading the introductory paragraph of the OP article linked produces the following detail:

"...they don't want their cats to travel all that way in an airliner cargo hold."

:seerrrr:

Well, that's pretty stupid because they can take the kitties on board and stash them under the seats in front of them - been there, done it now twice myself.

Replace "kitties" with "controlled substances" and this makes more sense.

Keeping the cats locked up in a taxi for several days is a big improvement over a few hours in an airplane.

Where's the confusion?

I stuck my little dude in his cozy carrier that fit nicely under the seat in front of me. I was able to (secretly) unzip it a bit and pet him throughout the flight. Really kept him calm - he even purred a bit. All things considered, it was fairly uneventful, so I don't get their concern. Why not just do the same? Beats the hell out of a long car ride.

Perhaps I was unclear. I think they were using the cats as an excuse, and were really trying to travel with drugs.

That, or they're ****ing stupid.

3000 miles with a NYC cabbie? How'd they keep from killing THEMSELVES!?

10 minutes with one of those jabbering smelly maniacs is way more than any person ought to have to take. Hours and hours and hours with one yakking away in his grimy, sticky, smelly dungheap cab? Jeez. That had to be a terrible trip any way you look at it.

And besides, on I-40 in TX the DPS sees a NYC taxi cab with some kind of a turbaned ferriner driving it... you're going to get drugdogged PDQ. So taking a NYC taxi cab to Arizona would be the most idiotic way to smuggle drugs you could possibly choose.

Greyhound to Phoenix takes two days, $177.00 per person.

So they're paying about $2,600 for the pleasure of the cabbie's company.

Ah, you may have something there.

Well then they're really stupid. If you wanted to ship drugs yourself, wouldn't you get off your ass and go get a driver's license? Being chaufeured is opening a whole can of worms.

You'll get no disagreement on their smarts from me.
