There's a new product called "Leptoprin" which is the "generic" name for "Ano-rex" Now, here's the pitch: It's not for the slightly overweight, no. They can't have it 'cuz you wouldn't wanna spend that much money. No, it's for the SERIOUSLY overweight. I can't wait until the FTC opens up a huge can of whipass on these marthafolkers. What a load of malarkey. Instead of spending money on their effective medicines for hypertension and diabetes, obese persons will be shelling out $150+ a month on a product that doesn't label its contents -- "It's proprietary, yet it's available OTC, really we're not kidding, no really!" I'm sure even if the product is effective, it is little more than ephedra, which costs about $1 per bottle
We need some serious oversight of supplements -- direct marketing of prescription drugs is limited by the FDA, but these mountebanks can get away with ANYTHING so long as they put away enough cash before they get fined and shut down. And TV stations and other media that run these ads don't ask questions, they just pocket the money and stick the tape into the machine.
If anybody's heard more about this company "Klein-Becker" please expound. I'm sure it's a play off "SmithKline Beechham".
