Wow...I mean...Wow

Wow, that was down right Hand Diddly Andy!

All your Evolute are Refute by Us.

So in summary, they nitpick over geological explanations that they find unsupported by evidence. These are pointed out to be huge embarrassments for geology. It basically reads, "here's something weird, geology offers the following explanations, we disagree with the evidence.....p0wn3d!".

The list is nicely pseudo-scientificy until the last part about the Bible's depiction of the Earth. They then go into a long creative fantasy of how they think the Earth formed after God was done stirring his stick about, all of it unsupported by any evidence, all of it pure supposition, and this is somehow perfectly ok. They even go so far as to invoke "additional water" brought to earth by "divine provision". Not rainfall, not from the sea, just God pissing out some extra H2O to get that flooding kicked off.

I mean, their sunglasses are nice and all, but how do they get through doorways with those huge honking blinders on? :D

1. Bible says Noah's story

2. Noah's story is incompatible with modern knowledge of cosmology and how much water is available on the Earth

Therefore 3. God must have brought in additional water.

For some reason, they aren't embarassed by this chain of logic.

I suppose at some point God drained off the excess?

Seems like a lot of trouble. Why not just "disappear" all the evil people/animals? That would solve some sticky problems such as getting a couple of koalas from Australia to the middle east and back, somehow keeping them alive despite the fact that they can only eat vegetation grown Down Under.

From "Firefly":

River: Noah's ark is a problem.
Book: Really?
River: We'll have to call it "early quantum state phenomenon". Only way to fit 5,000 species of mammals on the same boat.

Problem solved!

Because of God's judgment in the flood, conditions on the earth drastically changed and the lifespan of man was shortened, which would also affect the growth of large reptiles. Man also became a hunter and ate meat for the first time after the flood. This event known as the flood, led to the demise of the great reptiles. Once again, the sinfulness of man had a great effect on nature and the whole earth as well. Sinful man was destroyed in this devastating judgment of God. The results of this judgment can be seen in the fossil remains of dead animals and plants all over the earth. The Dinosaur is no more, only their small cousins remain. One day man will live no more on this earth as a result of the final judgment of God upon mankind. Will you be ready?
So...

- Because of some sinful people, all future people were punished with shorter lives. It naturally follows that this affected the growth of large reptiles.

- After ensuring the survival of animals, God then let us start killing them.

- Animals and plants died for man's sins.

- God is going to wreak murderous havoc again on those of us who aren't ready, saving only those who live by the logic of His infinite wisdom.

I like the email address: truth4free@...

They have a "Science Kit". The information starts: "Each Science Kit is designed to provide the student with a proper understanding of science and the knowledge that science is not a threat to one's religious faith."

Well, some people can agree with that. I think Michael Shermer covers that in "Why Darwin Matters" (which I just started reading today). But what is inside the Kit... When you follow the link there's not much besides the normal creationist stuff. Too bad :(

The Creationists read that stuff, and then wonder why these ideas are not allowed to infiltrate medical research. That is what amazes me the most.

To play Devil's Avocado, for just a moment: Why isn't there enough water on Earth to cover all the lands? We might have to do horrible things to get the Earth covered: melt all the ice caps, and lower all the parts still sticking up, somehow. But, it is still physically possible to cover the Earth with the water currently on Earth. Right?

If all geological activity stopped tomorrow, then the earth would be covered by water in a fairly short period of time, geologically speaking (in the order of millions, not thousands, of years). However, it would only be because erosion would wash everything into the sea, not because of higher water.

....Gag.......Vomit......

Then I had to run across this. These are very sick people.

Wow.

Do they even READ the articles they link to under "Recent Headlines"? The one about the dinosaur "mummy" specifically says that the find will help us learn more about the evolution of dinosaurs and their descendents.

What about if the poles suddenly shifted polarity?

Most of the articles in this (at least, the ones I had the stomach to read) are either copied from wikipedia, or seem to have been written by elementary school kids.
