you pay an entry fee of $199 then you have to pay a monthly fee depending on what you want. You then try and get your friends and relatives recruited and get part of their monthly fee yourself.

WV has effectively been declared a pyramid by a Norwegian court (and lost on appeal). I came to the same conclusion when I first became aware of it years ago.

There's many errors in it, ironically (for an "anti-mlm" post) one of them is stating WV isn't a pyramid because it sells products (travel). It's not unusual for pyramids to have products, the question is whether people are purchasing them out of legitimate demand or because of the attached business opportunity, and if that revenue is what funds the business and commissions.

In my opinion, and the Norway Lottery Inspectorate, it does.

In defence of WV is fact that all that fee you can spend on travels. (if I understood it right).

I've heard similar from people who wanted to help me to a great business opportunity through Amway (aka: Scamway).......feel free though to take my place!!!!!!!

Which means you're getting compensation for recruiting, which should put you on red alert for a pyramid scheme.

If they could show legitimate demand for their travel service was driving recruitment, rather than the ability to make money, then they might have a defence. Unfortunately when Norwegian authorities looked at WV data they found their revenue almost entirely comes from recruiting new people, not from the members using travel services.
