Hi all-

Glad to see the changes to the challenge. Too many times we've read the challenge applications to find that they're simply the unintelligible rants of people seriously suffering from mental illness.

What's the worst, most nonsensical example of word salad you've ever read?

Please keep your responses with flavor for the C. I. A BUGGING the phones for all silverware is mocking the TRUE KNOWLEDE that I bring forth ANSWERS.

Not sure if it qualifies as word salad, but...

Seriously mental illness isn't something to take lightly. It may be funny to see this sort of stuff but imagine the suffering the families have to go through muchness the person themselves. Although it depends on the illness. I admit I know less about schizophrenia only what I've read in textbooks. I've met some before but the conversation was brief and I've never met one that was completely stable the answer to why should be obvious.

From a person who has experienced a manic episode. I've been briefly through the looking glass so to speak. Appreciate your sanity, the world they inhabit is not pleasant. I'm lucky my problems are nothing compared to others. From my time on this forum I can say that I've seen a real schizophrenic or a bipolar person in hypomanic to manic level state . What I see are a bunch of kids and stubborn morons. Although I avoid the 9/11 threads so I don't know could be there.

For the truly ill though it's not something to make light of.

For all you who think this is joke just a TASTE of that illness and you would be writing the same gibberish. You aren't superior your brains are simply functioning properly don't equate their problem with stupidity.

Small rant over. Have nice day! :)

Very nice little rant, Solus. I agree.

The poster hondaracing011 had a psychiatric disorder, was a marijuana user and contributed a fair bit of word salad.

Check out his thread: BI Polar and training Kundalini, Serpent Power. Here's his first two posts:

Hello there,

A few Years ago I was diagnosed BI-Polar and now I am raising the Kundalini and was in the hospital several differnet times for days at a time for Bi-Polar depression and Kundalini awakening, I wanted to know If The JREF accepts Kundalini Out Patients for testing of various skills and paranormal abilitys for the challenge.

There really isnt anything needed to prove my abilitys, I had an accident and from my near death experience it has left me open to the kundalini, my mind should be enough for that. I have a link for you to read, the secound paragraph explains this.

I've often wondered what happened to him.

I remember that thread now that you mention. I posted in it, I still hadn't fully recovered myself though; last year I still wasn't in very good shape. I was bothered that nonsense like that was deluding people. I think I wrote he needed to face his problem and not embrace being insane. He thought he could gain special powers as recall if was he manic that it was a "gate" to "spiritual" power.

He was probably at that delusional stage like I was, In a hypomanic state. I had revelations about "god" and a whole load of nonsense but I was still semi cogent. I hated computers though (don't ask) so thankfully I didn't go around posting my insanity. Things got very fast very quickly and I eventually lost it all.

OH boy, I just checked that thread. I Notice he only posted in it for one month. Took me about that time to go from being hypomanic to full blown mania. I hope that he got some help if he really was bipolar. I didn't go over the whole thread just his first and last postings here.

Solus, are you taking about this site?

Or you taking about something else? I don't understand how you have gotten on to the topic of schizophrenia.

I am a person suffering from schizoprenia. One of the biggest problem we have is the stigma associated with the illness. You are right when you say that it is not only the sufferer who is affected, also those around him. I thank you for the posting.

I have been following the thread Ali Sofiori (?). First and foremost, the idea of one beleiving he is special in the eyes of God is an early sign of delusion. It is very common among people with the illness to believe that he has special powers granted to him by God. Please avoid encouraging him as it may lead to him harming himself.

The thread is on word salad...

From the site listed it's impossible to tell if the guy is just an idiot or suffers from a serious mental illness. Looking at the site again it might also be a joke from some disgruntled student that hates Aristotle

Added: You do know word salad is one of the key characteristics of schizophrenia don't you?
