OK this is the thread for telling stories about wins and losses at the tables in Vegas!

I just managed to lose $44 at a poker tournament at the Riv, after only 30 minutes. I console myself with the fact that I was beat fair and square - I had an ace-high straight and got beat by a full house. I also console myself by the fact that Mr. Ottle, who is a far better poker player than I am, got kicked out before I did.

Still stings though. I'm going to have to try again to try to make up for it.

Come on, though - who's won buckets of money and lived to tell about it?

I lost a $480 pot at 0430am on a three outer on the river. (I had KdQd, flop was QsQc8c I check and call a pot-sized bet. Turn comes 6h and I make a pot sized bet, am raised $100, I push all in and get called. Drunken dingbat opponent turns over Q9os. And the river comes.... 9h.

DOH!

TJ saw it all go down and can confirm the veracity of this pot, and my polite reply of 'nice hand sir'.

Harsh!!!
I played the 1 pm tournament and made it to the final 6. I got kicked out by a 10 on the river which gave the guy trip 10s so I know how you feel.

I feel a LOT better now, though - at least I stayed in a whole lot longer than the first time. Mr. Ottle did much better this time too. Still lost but I feel like at least this time, I got my money's worth :)

Plus I got to take out a guy who was clearly a seasoned poker player and stormed away from the table when I beat him. I love that :)

Ottle and Mr. Ottle in a smoke free room finally!!!

TAM tourney, short stack, four hands to make a move before being blinded out. Three called before me, folded Q-trash. Would have flopped a set of ladies and caught the case queen on the river, and been back in it. Craptastic cards all night -- KQ was the best pocket I saw. Ah, well, outlasted a number of better players.
