You know the types. Platoon had a bible reference, that awful, awful film "The Butterfly Effect" had a Plato quote or something, hell, even the great Jim Jarmusch had a surrealist poem at the beginning of Dead Man.

If I were to put a bet down, I would guess Avery will include a quote at the very beginning. But let's assume he is indeed going to. What would you think would be fitting?

If I was going to make a movie profiting off thousands of lives gone in one morning, I would probably have something like the Harold MacMillan quote

"Events my dear boy, Events"

But then again, that would be actually quite powerful, and we know Avery only delivers the power punches with the hip hop beats, so.. I'm interested in your ideas...

I suggest
"Nothing astonishes men so much as common sense and plain dealing."
Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I bet he'll use this quote:

"This movie contains errors. We left them in so you can find them. Good luck!"

There's a sucker born every minute -- David Hannum (often incorrectly attributed to P. T. Barnum)

Here's my suggestion:

"I have those lingering moments when I start to doubt what I'm doing, you know, what if I'm wrong? What if I'm absolutely wrong?"
–Dylan Avery April 30, 2006

ETA: Or this:

"I was making the video for fun," says Dylan, "and I released it on the Internet on a whim."

Or this:

Far-right wing radio host John Stadtmiller: "You know Jimmy Walter. This guy spent 5 1/2 million dollars of his own money, and people around him kept encouraging him to spend money, spend money, spend money. 5 1/2 million dollars later, I mean, my gosh, can you imagine if you had that amount of money, you probably could have made a full length motion picture and distributed it to theaters."

Avery: "Yeah, it would have probably been in theaters by now, and Bush would probably be in a jail cell. ...Hang him from the torch on the Statue of Liberty."

Or this:

"To tell you the truth, it wasn't 60 minutes at first, it was actually about 50 minutes. But then upon submitting it to the Cannes Film Festival, or actually the idea of submitting it, their guidelines stipulate that a feature film has to be 60 minutes in length or more. So, I kinda had to push myself to get it to at least that hour mark. I mean, it was close to 60 minutes, but it wasn't close enough for Cannes. And, I mean, naturally, I didn't get accepted to Cannes, but the running length stood as is."

Or this:

"I've found that the Pentagon is the easiest sell."

Or this, to a 9/11 widow at Ground Zero:

"The reason I'm doing this is because I believe your husband deserves the truth. I believe your husband – I want to be honest with you – our government killed your husband. Without a doubt."

Widow: "He was murdered–"

Avery: "–It was cold, calculated murder. But it was not some guy in a cave thousands of miles away. I know it's very hard to accept, but I've been researching this for three years, and I have seen so much, so much proof, it's just like, it's overwhelming."

And somewhere in the video I hope he quotes Alex Jones, speaking about Rosie O'Donnell:

"She's done massive research. Her postings, there's like 10 of them on her blog.... She's quoted Terrorstorm on her blog word for word."

[On the 9/11 Commission]
A total joke. I mean, every single member of that Commission was compromised. I mean, Keane, I mean, the head of Amerada Hess, I mean, like all these people, like, one guy co-wrote a book with Condoleeza Rice. I mean, there's ties to Enron, I mean, the Iran-Contra scandal, I mean, you name it, these people...this is not a bipartisan independent investigation. This is not a group of people you appoint to investigate the worst tragedy in the history of the United States. These are a couple of people you hire to cover up something, I mean, that's what they did in their past. One of the guys worked for Phillip Morris, defending them, and saying that cigarettes were okay, and he's going to defend 9/11 and say that 9/11, 'Ooh, hey, we dropped the ball.'

And I think it's kind of ridiculous that Rudy Giuliani is being called as a witness. Who did he lose on 9/11? Like, who personally did he know that he lost? I mean, granted, I'm sorry he was the Mayor, but, he wasn't there. I mean, he was there in New York City, but he was there after the fact.

On the Bush Administration:
I mean, it's the biggest group of criminals we've ever seen in this country. It's just so blatant.

It's going to be a very good year for the truth.

I have those lingering moments when I start to doubt what I'm doing, you know, 'What if I'm wrong? What if I'm absolutely wrong? But then I get like a hundred emails from family members saying, 'I just want to tell you I really support what you're doing, and we lost our friends on 9/11 and we've been searching for the real truth since then, but the 9/11 Commission lied to us.'

All these people got screwed SO BADLY by the government, and the government basically told them to get lost. I mean, they paid them off, they gave them their hush money, and said, 'You can't sue us now." And that was it. And you heard from like three family members since, you've heard from Ellen Mariani and like two or three others.

I would like to see George Bush walk out of office and into a jail cell. Or at least into a court room. I don't think he deserves a jail cell. I don't know what he deserves, but...I would like to know for a fact who was responsible and I would like to take it from there.

It's because of the internet, where I am today. ...It's overwhelming, like, over 2 million people have seen it on Google Video now. It's crazy. I love it. ...Two million people out there now know the truth about 9/11. ...That's the best part about of this information: it takes on a life of its own. And there's no stopping it.

Thanks, gravy.

Amazing what comes out of that kid's mouth. If he gains any amount of mainstream success from LCFC, you know this stuff will come back and bite him, HARD.

It'll be like the Highlights comics.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?"

Dylan "The Widowbreaker" Avery said:

Widow: "He was murdered–"

Avery: "–It was cold, calculated murder. But it was not some guy in a cave thousands of miles away. I know it's very hard to accept, but I've been researching this for three years, and I have seen so much, so much proof, it's just like, it's overwhelming."

Oh oh, he should save that for the end. That's a great final indignanty.

I wonder if they're doing any promotional pre-screenings. I received tickets for Borat, Casino Royale and I Think I Love My Wife for their pre-screenings courtesy of the University's Student Union. If they do, I will take a ticket and be sure to take notes of what is being said...

A Belief, that moves to absolute certainty in the space of a few seconds.
Ugh. Repellent.

Given the age range of the makers of the film and their target market, it will undoubtedly be a quote from "The Matrix" or "V for Vendetta".

I was looking through the entry for it on IMDb... man, it's sad. So far, I've not got any info on release places, though. If I'm [unlucky] it'll be out here at school. I'll go watch it for a laugh, I suppose

ETA: IMDB also says out "November 24th." I wonder if Dylan is exaggerating his chances..

The line about Abby and the jedi mind trick...that would a good one.

TAM:)

I did (my post referered to them).

*puts on the troofer disguise*

The highest ranking one is the correct one, where all you false skeptics and debunkers are just AFRAID OF THE TRUTH! WE WILL PREVAIL! RAAAAGGGH..

*takes off the disguise*

Okay, my daily moment of insanity aside... I ended up voting it down. The lowest ranking ones were (of course) talking about Screw Loose Change and one commenting how it was an interesting study of human delusion.

It was kinda sad. I'd have posted something, but I barely remember my SLC, and I've yet to see LC.
