... the Katrina tripod of catastrophes of preparedness, relief and civil order?

Or will they continue their vocation of flying the flag of party above the flag of country?

My cynicism says there will be only a cursory investigation, if there is one at all. I hope my cynicism is wrong.

Only if there was some way that the Democrats could be blamed.

We all know how happy it makes the GOP party faithful when fossil fuel production is crippled, thousands of people (that they are mostly minorities is just a bonus) are killed or left homeless, and violence and lawlessness rules the streets.

Muahhh-hahahahaha!!! :big:

This was the major topic of discussion on Diane Rehm's weekly "reporter's roundup" segment this morning. Numerous callers expressed the same frustrated question, "where have all the billions for homeland security and preparedness gone?"

This exact situation has been "on the board" for years; I recall hearing an in-depth Science Friday segment last year on the potential for catastrophe.
Apparently, the world press is expressing dismay at the sluggish and innefectual response by the government to Katrina.

Hey, don't politicize this tragedy! Bush doesn't have power over the forces of nature, don't you know.
