Was in New York today doing a job on Wall Street . In addition to the usual
freak show by the WACjobs saw something else

Going back to the PATH station on Vessey St was walking north on Church St
when spotted a van (actually small box truck) labeled

MOBILE INTELLIGENCE COLLECTION

Anyone know anything about this...?
 
Sounds like someone's idea of an amusing prank.

And if it's not, well, I might consider dropping off some leaked documents there. Right after I take all the jewelry I got in my last heist to the new fence that just opened up shop next to the police station, with the big sign that says "Best Prices Paid for your Stolen Stuff."

Do they even KNOW the definition of the phrase "Top Secret"?
 
Maybe I am wrong but is it possible he is riffing on the old meme of windowless trucks with complicated electronic spying equipment trawling suburbs? The film V for Vendetta had a variant of that with the government sending trucks around to pick up conversations in houses to build up a picture of public sentiment.

Interestingly something very similar happens in the real world with satellites owned by various countries trawling through bulk elint produced by countries deemed acceptable targets by their political establishment.

It goes without saying that no western country would be so depraved as to use such large scale elint practices on their own citizens!

It goes without saying, which is why I was careful not to say it.
