Why I should vote for Trump?

Here is your chance Trump supporters. Tell us what Trump promised and accomplished as President. How he improved your lives and the lives of your countrymen. What made his Presidency better than Biden's. Why the future of this country and the world will be better by going back to Trump.

Tell us;

About the Mexican wall that he built and how Mexico paid for it.
About Trump the builder was America's infrastructure President.
About the great construction projects that he built.
About how he was going to replace the Affordable Care Act with something better.
How he united the country and improved our lives.
What made Trump's Presidency better than Biden's.

Tell me why I should vote for Trump. And if you can't do that. Why are you?

I know it's for Trump supporters but you shouldn't. Biden is a meh-to rubbish president but Trump is possibly the worst ever.

I only say possibly because of James Buchanan and Franklin Pierce. At least Trump never actively campaigned to expand slavery.

Well, tell me why Biden is a meh-to-rubbish President given the political environment that includes a 51-49 split in the Senate, a Republican House and a 6 to 3 SCOTUS.

Tell us how that compares to Trump and his accomplishments. I'm not a big fan of Biden's salesmanship as President, but he has surprised me as President. I believe given the hand he was dealt, he has done a pretty good job.

But I want to hear it all. I don't really care about a general opinion that he's a good, bad or mediocre President. But why. Give us specifics.

Just to piss you off.

Not really. I genuinely want to know what his supporters believe Trump did for them and the rest of us. Is it taxes? Is it that they're pro-life and Trump's judges overturned Roe v Wade.

I want to know from them, why the country was better under Trump and why they think it will better if we return to Trump. What policies were better. How Trump improved their lives and how Biden has been detrimental to them.

It's a very simple question. I can absolutely explain in detail why I think my candidate is a better choice. I want to hear their thoughts. I would hope that they can articulate theirs.

There's a whole thread for discussing his presidency. It's surprisingly active, even now. If you're not getting the engagement you want over there, you're certainly not going to get it here.

The thing about this thread is it's all about what you want from other people, and not at all about what you have to offer them in return. My view is neither party has anything to offer the other (mainly because the other party isn't even here), and this thread serves no fit purpose. For you or anyone else.

Hey, give him a chance; who knows what he'll try after he's declared himself president for life?

You're one of his supporters. Why don't you tell us why.

Why I should vote for Trump?

Because you're full of hate and long to lash out at some other, and you can do that vicariously through Trump.

Because you're a sociopath that's not able to tell right from wrong.

Because you're a half-wit, or at least an in-particular-silos-a-half-wit even if in other things fully functional, who is unable to see that Trump doesn't mean a single thing he says, and that while telling you he's going to screw those others over, who he's screwing over first and foremost is you, his faithful half-wit follower.

Because you stand to gain, personally, in some way, from his re-election.

(Insert an "and/or" in between. And I suppose that last is the sanest reason, while at the same time the vilest.)

eta: Sorry, I should have resisted the impulse. I see what you're trying to do here. I agree, it would be interesting to have a thread in which the (few) Trump supporters we have here can step up and clearly state why they do that. And I suppose they might not if we pile on onto the obvious.

Carry on, please. Speaking for myself, I won't pile on again. And I'm leaving my original comment undeleted, because maybe others will refrain from simply piling on, like I did here, and leave a space for the Trump supporters to clearly talk about how and why they still support that ...person.

There are a lot of reasons, but I'll limit myself to ten. In no particular order:

  • He's a misogonist
  • He'll destroy Democracy
  • He's totally racist
  • He's anti-science. Remember he told people to drink bleach!
  • He's homophopic and transphobic
  • He called some countries *********
  • He's controlled by Vladimir Putin
  • He's against the environment
  • He's a white supremacist
  • He's an islamophobe
  • He led an insurrection against the US

Sorry. Try as I might, I couldn't narrow it down to just ten reasons.

Israel is why.

Biden's proved either to be a sociopath, either that or else someone completely lacking the smallest vestiges of a spine.

This more than balances out Ukraine, because commission > omission in my book. You're a far bigger of an ******* if you bludgeon a baby to death, or if you enable and cheer on someone else, some vile lowlife doing that, and keep passing on a supply of bats to them to better keep doing that; than if you merely stood by idly, for whatever reason, while some unrelated other did this to some baby.

But he's still better, much much better, immeasurably better, than the alternative.

(Sorry, couldn't resist that impulse either, even despite the derail. ...Out of here now, as far as posting in this thread.)

You're correct about all those things which are, I'm sure you realize, reasons NOT to vote for Trump. But I would say that by far the most serious is the insurrection. Some of the items on the list could be personal flaws that many presidents have been guilty of, but the final one is really the biggest existential threat to the US. Nobody should countenance voting for him on those grounds alone. It would be much better if the Republicans could scrape together a better candidate instead of the overt lunatic who seems to mesmerize around 30% of the US electorate. There needs to be at least a bottom line of sanity and then actual issues and political disagreements can come to the fore again. Then perhaps Biden and his record could be looked at with more discernment. Until then though, I can't respect anyone thinking that Trump might be a viable candidate for president.

You said this sarcastically, but the average Trump voter believes Trump's lies, and believes that things these things are true.

They won't be bothered typing up a response when you've done their work for them and listed why they vote for him.

Will not be voting this time. Voting for #GenocideJoe is an act of complicity, as would be voting for any current GOP candidate. The consequence were many others to do the same is a likely Trump victory. Not sure his holy hell will rain down on the rest of the world as much as it will on the US. Perhaps such a "gentle" reminder as to what the Continental Army fought against would be healthy for the nation... if it survives.

One of the reasons I can imagine sorta runs like this

You've grown up in the US and been told that it's the greatest nation on Earth, and the only place where you can become rich and powerful by hard work, combined with constant commercials/education explaining that you somehow have the right to be succesful

Yet, you work hard at several jobs, with low chance of advancement, the right to be fired at will used against you if you complain and no social security or financial aid should you become unemployed and no healthcare.

This can't be a fault of the country, as it's the best country on earth. It can't be because you don't work hard, because you do.
So it must be 'them' keeping you down. And here is Trump identifying them. The 'left wing elite', the immigrants, the environmentalists. And he promises to take revenge for you. And the fact that he did nothing of the sort last time around is clearly again because of 'them'

As for not voting, imo that is a cowardly way of ensuring the worst possible candidate will run your country and is a greater act of complicity then at least making a choice.

Because there are some "others" I hate more than I love my family

Speaking for some especially ignorant and deluded Christians I know:

Donald Trump is God's instrument of destruction. He'll raze the deep, secular state, so that from its ruins a new nation under God will arise.
And [The following is held at the same time regardless of contradiction.] he'll make the way for the Antichrist.

Vote for Trump because he's sure to bring on Armageddon, which must proceed the return of Jesus Christ.

Trump's gonna burn it all down!
