Why go to 9-11 Forums?

Well, once again the folks at LCF have grown tired of me daring to question their new religion. It really does say something about them, or any die-hard ideological group, that cannot comprehend nor tolerate dissenting and challenging voices.

Why do I and others go to these forums even though we know we will be harshly received and most likely banned? Its very simple.

We care about the truth. 9-11 was one of the most dramatic event in our history and as patriotic Americans, we want our people to understand the real truth about this event. This is not about defending Bush or defending Republicans or defending a Neo-Conservative agenda. This is about understanding what DID happen that day..and what DID NOT happen that day..based on the real physical evidence.

For many 9-11 Truthers, it is in their ideological interest to brush us off as agents, or sheeple, mind controlled slaves. God forbid we actually think this way because we looked at the evidence and came to our own conclusion. God forbid our own understanding of the facts made us conclude "9-11 Was Not An Inside Job".

If we actually think for ourselves, if we are not agents, if we are not brain-washed, then our opinions and beliefs must be taken into account.

In the end, all that matters is that WE CARE ABOUT THE TRUTH and we want our people, the American people, to understand THE TRUTH.

The Truthers can ridicule us, they can call us names, they can accuse us of treason, and they can ban us. But as we all know, the only opinions and views that are banned in a society, are ones that you FEAR.

It sounds lame when said like that, I know one of the indiana jones movies had a similar quote I am sure.

Which leads onto 'Philosophy is thinking about how the world works, science is knowing it'

That makes a lot of sense. The "Truth" is really a combination of facts. When it comes to 9-11, there are facts, there is theory, there is assumption, and there is opinion. All that should really matter is the facts that we do know and if we don't know, then we should not assume.

You hit the nail on the head. We here, can at times, be just as guilty of behaviours described in the OP, as the truthers. Some of it is to be expected, and accepted as human nature, but I would hope that as whole we are able to pull back from it, so as to not lower ourselves to their standards...

I actually, I kind of disagree. The Truthers claim that they care about the "truth" and that all they are trying to do is open the eyes and minds of their fellow Americans. I am now of the opinion that this is just their spiel to get the attention of nieve folks who would never turn away someone who appears to honestly want to educated them. The fact is that the Truther's strategy for achieving understanding, is to disregard most if not all facts and views that come from anyone employed by the governmant. Any scientist who agrees with the official story did not come to their own conclusions..they were brainwashed or paid off or threatened.

I do not believe that the scientists who believe in controlled demolitions or no planes or "pulling" wtc 7 are paid off, or crazy, or agents of some foreign governmant. I believe that they are wrong..seriously wrong..and guided by their own political agenda. But they are still expressing their own opinions.

To the Truthers there are only three types of people. Those who know the "truth", those who have not yet been exposed to the truth, and those who blindly follow Bush. Their tri-polar approach to the debate is calculated and intelligent. It is the same way extremist religions look at the truth. You are accept the truth, you have not been exposed to the light, or you are the devil.

I would never accuse a Truther of being unpatriotic, or supporting terrorism, for simply saying "9-11 Was an Inside Job". But on the flip side, some in the Truth movement have stated that those who defend and support the official story are in essence supporting and defending the perpetrators of the crime, are therefore themselves, complicit in the crime.

The major difference is that the debunker boards (JREF, AH, and until the policies on what was able to be posted changed, BAUT) don't ban because of what the poster posts, but how they post it. It is the poster's behaviour that gets them banned, not what they are saying. Posters like scooby, TruthSeeker12345 and CriticalSkepticGuy can post whatever delusions they dream up here, and they aren't censored in any way. Challenged to back it up, yes, but their posts aren't modified or simply deleted. The Bunk boards can't claim the same. They do such things as banning anyone that doesn't tow the line, and modify and delete posts as a matter of course. They scream about wanting the truth, but when it is offered, instead of examining it, they bury it so no one can see it. When they come up with things we don't agree with here, we just debunk it and then leave it there so that people can laugh at it.
