His new DVD: Dan Aykroyd Unplugged on UFOs

Plot Synopsis: Dan Aykroyd Unplugged on UFOs explores past and present sightings from around the world with shocking real footage, much of it never before seen, that will leave even the most skeptical viewers scratching their heads. Along with the fascinating collection of stunning eyewitness videos, Akroyd reveals his own vast knowledge of the strange and paranormal as he explores in detail his views on conspiracy theories, military secrets, and how UFO technology is currently part of our everyday lives!

This is available on Netflix...I'm quite tempted to rent it out.

the skeptic's dictionary has had a review of his woo tv show that was cancelled years ago for a while now. He's been out as a woo for a long time.

How is Akroyd's being "unplugged" in any way relevant? Does that mean such stuff leaks out of him more easily?

Maybe he took the plot of "My Stepmother is an Alien" and Basinger's role therein too seriously - the one and only reviewer notes, "I was hoping for something more compelling."

I knew he was woo after seeing his interview on the Ghostbusters SE DVD.

BTW it is in the Science FICTION section at my local video store.

It begs the question: Was he every plugged in to a UFO?

...and, if so, where exactly?

I'll give Aykrord some credit for inviting skeptical challenges in a promotional interview. How willing he will be to defend his claims I suppose is the real test.

Did anyone catch Aykroyd on Rita Cosby: Live and Direct last night?(5-31-06) I only caught the last half hour and half of that was dedicated to some police psychic claiming success.

Not only did he mention that he had witnessed several UFOs but he also said that he and approx. 16 million other people had a "psychic encounter" with extraterrestrials which made him get up out of bed.

It was actually kind of depressing.

Doesn't surprise me. Venkman was the skeptic.

“You're right Ray...no human would stack books like that...”

Who knew? I did.

Back when Ghostbusters first came out, I read interviews with him which made it very clear.

He was raised in a home in which just about every type of woo nonsense was taken seriously, and continunes to subscribe to a fair amount of it.

Much of the woo terminology in Ghostbusters was from his own knowledge of the subject.

The technology for dispelling ghosts, on the other hand, presumably is of alien origin. If so, could ghost technology bust aliens? Now there's a thought...

Akroyd will be on Coast to Coast on Sunday night, discussing UFOs. Should be worth a hearty laugh.

Some other wacko named Sereda will be on, too - I suppose to help Akroyd with the big words.
