New big study:
It's official: An asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100304/sc_nm/us_dinosaurs_asteroid
"The KT extinction was a pivotal moment in Earth's history, which ultimately paved the way for humans to become the dominant species on Earth," he wrote in a commentary on the study.

You've always gotta look at who benefits. We got something here maybe, but the details are a little unclear. What does anyone else think?
:wackyskeptical:

And which nation is the dominating one today? That's right, the US.

It's all America's fault.

You're not allowed to call them dinosaurs any more, It's speciesist. You have to call them pre-petroleum persons.

Yeah, but this thread is for wiseasses. :D

I agree with the OP that humans deserve further investigation. Let's look at motive, means, and opportunity. Motive? To open up space for us to take over. Means? There are few genera we aren't able to wipe out when we set our minds to it; we have the technology and are mean bastids. Opportunity? This is where being a YEC would help out a lot, but SF authors have taken a stab at it over and over by postulating time machines, which we'll have Real Soon Now.

No it was not humans that did it. It was not even an asteroid that hit Earth. It was a space ship. For reference I suggest you watch Dr Who. That explains all of it in detail.

Sorry guys you just need to know where to look.

The Cybermen were responsible. If Adric had just had a little more time, he could have saved them.

Humanity did it! The fight between Marduk and Tiamat in the Enuma Elish is clear evidence of that!
