Can we vote twice? This is like choosing between anthrax and tuberculosis. Below are some quotes from an Op-Ed piece that appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle this past February. It was written by Jack Ohman, a political cartoonist syndicated nationwide to over 300 newspapers. In 2016, he won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning. Ohman also writes Op-Eds for the Chronicle. Ohman spent time with Kennedy in 2001, helping to arrange a speaking engagement for RFK Jr. at Portland State University.

I found myself liking him, and there was never a moment where he seemed, well, unstable...Now, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has turned into a crank, a delusional conspiracy nut about, well, most things: vaccines, the JFK assassination, his father's assassination, the origins of COVID-19 and an almost endless litany of other subjects. He hangs around intellectually flatulent Steve Bannon and wacky Putin buddy Gen. Michael Flynn, and his name was floated recently as a potential running mate for Trump.

Trump/Kennedy 2024? What a perfect pairing! Both are utterly unqualified, delusional, vain and would be a catastrophe for the country each in his own special way. Even his Kennedy sibs are supporting President Joe Biden, and JFK’s grandson mocked his second cousin on social. On Friday, the Democratic National Committee filed a federal election complaint against him for illegally working with a super PAC to get on the ballot in several states critical to President Biden. The unbearably sad thing is that not only is such a pairing feasible, many Americans share the core beliefs of both. It will no doubt be the first time that two clinically insane people will be elected to run a country. It will be something the US may not recover from.

In the case of RFK jr. there is the Disappointment Factor.
No one who knows about Trump ever expected him to be anything but a terrible excuse for a human being.

RFK is certainly delusional. But he hasn't as of YET gotten thousands of Americans killed by deliberately lying about COVID, tried to overturn American democracy, illegal retained and shared American nuclear secrets or any other classified information (to the best of my knowledge), abducted the children of asylum-seekers, committed sexual assault, appointed judges that overturned what were previously considered to be human rights in the US in contravention to 40 years of legal precedent...

What would you rather eat: cat **** or dog ******

I honestly think that is about what it comes down to. Both of them are horrendously bad choices.

Isn't Trump expected to remake the US government as a de facto dictatorship, by replacing the executive branch wholesale with cronies and yes-men?

His last administration demonstrated quite clearly that our current system of government can weather a jackass president just fine. If you truly believe that this time around Trump will replace our current system, then you should absolutely prefer RFK, Jr.

Trump voters reassuring us that Trump isn’t that bad is strangely not reassuring.

Trump because he actually has a pretty good chance to win. RFK's going nowhere.

As Trump said to Sean Hannity, last time he didn't know how the presidency worked, nor how much power he actually had. But he learned. He learned not to appoint people with knowledge and experience who would stand up to him when he was wrong, but to appoint only those who are loyal to him, "yes" men who will do his bidding on all things without question.

Did it, really? The most serious of offenses that Trump has been charged with have yet to be even brought to trial; nor are likely to be before the next election, due to suppression by judges he himself appointed...

I agree. We have yet to see all the consequences of his administration, and if elected again, it's going to be far worse. He'll pardon every single Jan 6er and every single person indicted or under investigation for anything connected to fixing the election or him. He'll be out of control with loyalists put in every position of power or influence he can.

Prefer RFK, Jr. for what, the Republican nominee? Hell yeah!
Even with a brain worm, a significantly better alternative. RFK Jr. has good intentions and would only wreck things through incompetence, so keeping him on track would be like cleaning up after a puppy. Compared with Trump's apocalyptically vindictive narcissist revenge fantasies, where there is no cleaning up after that.
