Where Dylan Should Be vs. Where Dylan Is

With 58 days to go until 9/11/07, we continue to await breathlessly any word from Dylan Avery regarding the release of his so-called "movie".

By now, it has become painfully obvious that LC:FC is going to be a rehash of the same thoroughly debunked (rule8) that Avery has been spouting for years. Equally obvious and painful (for Dylan anyway) is that his audience is going to be limited to a few wackjobs in a few campus meeting rooms and church halls.

What, then, should he be doing to get the word out, to try and boost his audience? He should be making public appearances, doing press releases, whatever he can to create "buzz" for his project. It isn't impossible. "Snakes on a Plane" became a phenomenon based on one blog entry. If the right people see it and pick it up, he could at least pique a little interest.

However, he's not doing that. He's hanging out in the LC chat room a LOT. He's apparently not even finished with the movie, but yet he has time to devote to bantering with people on the Net.

Twoofers, prepare yourself for yet another severe disappointment. Probably the last one from Avery. Once LC:FC is out, he has nothing left, and will quickly sink back into whatever obscurity it is that vomited him up in the first place.

The problem for him is, he can't originate anything new anymore. Thierry Meyssan was a hit in 2002, because he was so outrageous and made some of the most stunning claims. LC can't provide the shock effect anymore. Everything has been said already. Every single theory. They are about 5 years late. It's like waiting for Police Academy 8. Nothing new.

ETA: This is where Alex Jones is much "better". He is not stuck into one event. His new movie End Game will not be about 9/11, it's about the NAU, Bilderberg group etc. LC is stuck on past, while their "fatherfigure" already trutherizes the newer/current topics.

I find it interesting which particular ct claims he favours at any given time.

Just prior to his hardfire debate with gravy he was emphasising the ISI connection.

Then recently when he sought out silent bob at the wrong forum as soon as he was challenged about his beliefs the first claim he reached for was the military stand down angle.

So, one assumes that at least those two talking points will be included in the final film.

haha yeah i never saw snakes on a plane

such a retarded movie... who cares about snakes on a plane

but the media was hyping it so god damn much. saw it on conan and jon stewart and every channle i went to every other commercial. STOP TRYING TO SELL ME YOUR DAMN SNAKES

BTW, there is some competition. Alex Jones has scheduled the release of his new film End Game on September, 2007. LC Final Cut is scheduled, that's right, September 7, 2007. I wonder which project Alex focuses more on :p

Dude, I a huge fan of snakes, and I am very fond of flying, so when I heard Hollywood was going to make a movie using both of the aforementioned subjects, I'm not gonna lie. I popped a chub. And when I did see it, I enjoyed it. It was a fun, campy, utterly ridiculous and quite pointless movie and it had Sam MF'n Jackson in it. Thumbs up.

I think LC:FC is going to be the St Anger of the cinematic universe. ALl that hype... for nah-zing!!

Unsecured:

At the last minute, I backed out of going to Snakes. However, I really loved Deep Blue Sea as a campy, over-the-top smart-shark movie. Is Snakes right along that line? Because if it is, I'm getting the DVD.

Yes!! On paper, it's the greatest horror story ever told. 35,000 feet in the air, plane riddled with venomous snakes... and one python. Here's my 8 bucks, I want extra popcorn.

Bolo, if you watch it and are not somewhat entertained, I will reimburse you for your purchase. You have my word.

Hey, just a few hours back I got home from the Metallica gig at our Stadium. They did not play one single song from St.Anger :) (It was a superb gig btw).

I will say this, when they updated SoaP to include the "MFing snakes on this MFing plane" line, I think it was a movie milestone. A movie actually making changes during production/post production to accommodate the demands of the audience.

Is this a good thing? Will this bring the voice of the people to the directors and force them to push harder, or will it drag everything toward mediocrity and stifle truly innovative art?

I'll be the contrarian here as usual and say that Dylan will have a film ready on time and that it will be successful at least among the Truthers, who are, after all, not a terribly critical bunch. Will it be released on a lot of screens? I doubt that strongly, but they might be able to get something going with the art house and college town theaters. If it debuts on more than 30 screens I'll be shocked; my suspicion is one screen in New York, one in LA, and one in Austin.

I can think of a number of major motion film that weren't out of editing and "in the can" on the studio's desk until a week out from their premire. (including LotR, all three) so time isn't necessarily a factor. However... Most major releases would have their threatres booked and be hyping the opening at least 3-6 months before the release date, and that's something he doesn't seem to have done at all.

Hell according to Ann Coates, the first time anyone got to watch Lawerence of Arabia, in full in colour, was at the cast and crew. They were working on black and white 35mm prints of the film split into two cutting rooms, mere days before this event.

I'm not saying Dylan Avery is David Lean mind you. You're right though, he responded several times on a thread about U93, and appears to be sticking with his "no bodies" hypothesis. And does seem to be more active on his forum than before. But if it still was going for a cinema release we'd have seen proper trailers by now. And theaters would be already booked. Now if I was working on a movie coming out in September I wouldn't be jawing on message board. Hang on. No wait, its okay, the one I'm on is on screen in October....

He'll have it out.

It'll still be dissapointing. It won't even provide anything new, yet they'll call it twoof.
