Back in my highschool, they banned beepers and marbles. They had a ban against throwing snowballs as well (you could still make them, but not give them any lateral momentum), then they upgraded it to a complete ban on snowballs.

I'm not a parent, so maybe the legitimate correct answer is "when you single guys let us leave work early more often" or somesuch, but my question is how long will it take before angry parents march in to an administration office with sharks teeth and aspirin bottles and shove them up the ass of whoever is doing this cockamamie stuff? Stupid decisions can survive without widespread consent only as long as they have widespread apathy.

Sharks dispense with teeth like Hefner dispenses with augmented blondes.

They can be scrounged like sea shells.

Nope.. I'ts the ' weapon ' thing..

However, I wouldn't be surprised if these idiots didn't know that sharks shed there teeth, and they are fairly easy to come by, without killing sharks..

I realize that; I was just hoping there was a better explanation than "weapon."

It is dumb...but, to be fair to the school district, if someone did cut a student with one of the teeth, you know the injured student's parents would sue the pants of the district.

I'm trying to imagine holding a sharks tooth and using it to inflict damage on another person. I'm sorry but I don't get it. At best (worst?) we are talking about a small incision or puncture wound (emphasis on small).

Mark has a point though. Someone get's cut with a shark's tooth and there will be a law suit.
