Madness beyond infinity. Oprah needs to be held responsible for what is going to happen next. I knew something like this was going to happen, and I HATE how bad it actually really is!!!

If vaccines get banned, then I want to move off of this planet. Where can I buy my ticket to the next galaxy???

Yeah, I don't care if this is a slippery slope argument, but Oprah is supporting this, and we all KNOW that this will only mean a show about how Americans should shun anything slightly "mainstream" and "sciency". Stand up against reason, logic, and evidence and start up those google-based educations! Homeopaths, unethical MDs (Jay Gordon et al), and naturopaths are salivating over how their coffers will overflow from all the GRAND advice McCarthy will give the masses!!!

Media based education is what we have now. And celebrities know everything that is good for you. Don't listen to the evil pharma backed MDs that are poisoning your kids, just buy junk off of the net and cleanse away!!!

Too bad our next generation won't know what hit them.
 
Just when I think there is progress in this messy world of ours, I read something like this. Oprah should be ashamed of herself, but of course won't be.
 
You can't be surprised by this... The same lady promoted The Secret, and has made a reputation for believing and promoting the most ridiculous nonsense possible. As in chemistry, like dissolves in like, and their crazy is getting all swirled together.
 
Perhaps she needs to be shown how many little black babies will die as a result of the anti-vax nonsense. (Not a racist comment, I was just recalling Ingrid Bergman's performance from Murder on the Orient Express).

The comments are running about 10 to 1 against, but I don't know how many of them came from here or other places where you've spread the word; I'd like to think it is an Oprah rebellion, but that is unlikely in the extreme. given the money she pours into PR. At any rate, good for you for your militancy.

In 1985 the US house agricultural committee decided to have hearings on the hardships of farmers and what they could do about it. So, they invited Sissy Spacek, Sally Field, Jane Fonda and Jessica Lange, veterans all of farm wife roles in then-recent movies, to testify as expert witnesses on the hardships of farms. Alberta isn't alone in absurdity.

the female empowerment schools in africa complete with ****ing beauty salons was enough for me. She doesn't do as much good as she intends, thats for sure.

her endorsement of things like this will inspire other washed up celebrities to do the same thing im sure.
 
Just read her blog. I had no idea how horrible this woman truly is.
Especially during PMS, I'm like a Hoover Vacuum eating anything within a three inch radius. I managed to frost the cupcakes and deliver them to the party without a problem. As I educate myself more and more on how harmful sugar can be I ask myself, "why in the heck am I still letting Evan eat it?" I only let him have cupcakes on holidays or birthday parties, but evaporated cane juice is in EVERYTHING. At least I got smart and taught myself to stay away from what I call "the Devil" (what most people refer to as high fructose corn syrup). I would like to get Evan completely off sugar too. God, I hope he doesn't hate me someday! LOL. After all, I've written six books about him so far. You know, as soon as he turns 16 I am sure he is going to write one called, "Mom, Leave Me Alone!" LOL

Personally I'd never go to the mass media and give my opinion about something as specialised as this, on the basis of a personal experience.

That's like me going on TV to give tax advice, because I filled in the forms a couple of times.

At least I know that I don't know. Are these people really too stupid to realise that they're stupid?

I disagree: it will be, once more, a case of socioeconomic selection, and I can't think of it as a bright side... In 5 to 10 years we'll know how influential these persons (and I use that word loosely) actually were.

Don't forget that Dr. Phil brought Kirk "Crcocduck" Cameron on his show to teach us about firefighters' psychological challenges. If you have done a movie about it, you're the expert. Jenny has been naked in front of the camera, ergo she deserves that MD :D

My understanding is that you can't vaccinate newborns, so they depend on the herd immunity until they're old enough for each vaccination.

If someone gets paid a lot to talk rubbish and the people who get hurt as a result are people they will probably never meet, "stupid" is not the word I would choose.
"Callous", possibly. "Greedy" definitely. The noun I would choose to go with these two adjectives would get me banned from this forum. Starts with "c".

Wow. I was actually not that concerned, for just the reason Perpetual Student offered, until I read your follow-up, Puppycow. Thanks for the info.

Now I do not simply pity the damn fool anti-vaxxers, I loathe, fear, and despise them as well.
