Have you noticed the lame coverage of the Iraq conflicts. Fighting is getting worse n worse. Where are all the imbedded reporters?? We had dramatic footage at the start of the war, now nuthin!! Every night we HEAR about the #'s killed, but the footage consists of:

-smoldering car/tank
-1/2 blown up building.
-Iraqi police car with its lights on
-some local iraqi with a cut on his head.
--tied up hostage.
-Military vehicle convoy.

I swear its all stock footage!! Ibet if you put the news on right now youll see one of the above.

The forgein news channels show alot more graphic footage. Why not the US news? Its it a pro bush media conspiracy, or are they all afraid to be labled as anti-american if they show the graphic stuff.

Main reason: The US viewers are desensitized already. They're just going to nod and say, "more violence. Who did Britney marry, again, and now she's a stepmother?"

It's ratings.

I doubt it's a pro-Bush media conspiracy, because Bush supporters will interpret each new outbreak of violence as evidence that we need to press forward, not back out. Suppression isn't necessary. In fact, they'd be publicizing it more.

Don't think so. I believe most americans would be horrified if they witnessed the reality of the war. For instance just look at the great impact pictures had during the Vietnam war.

I don't think it's a Bush conspiracy, I think it's mainly the military in Iraq that does it's best to control the media, in order not to lose support from the US population.

There was a documentry on Discovery Civilization channel about the imbedded reports and what they saw. One thing they said was they were not allowed to show US soldiers blown up or wounded in acts of war.

It was an interesting perspective.

It's because the Iraq situation doesn't have a cool name. I suggest, "Vietnam II: The redeadening."

You want Us reporters to be out and about in Iraq? They meant to report the news no be the news.

Sheesh, I thought they were just afraid to go outside.

If I want violence I have the internet.

Leave my TV for what it was created by God for:
"Fear Factor" and "Apprentice".
