Nader blasts Obama, won't rule out 2012 run
The Hill

Made you look.

I hate Nader. Plain and simple. The guy is a complete asshat.

How old is Nadar now? Geez I remember Nadar always screaming about something even when I was a kid. And I am no spring chicken anymore.

Nader is an egomaniac. The only people who still support him are the members of his Personality Cult, for whom he is a Messiah. The vast majority of Progressives have washed their hands of him a long time ago.

It's hard to run a good campaign when you are in good health. He has persistant neurological problems that make him sound like he is drunk. His chance of stroking out in mid-campaign is, at best, daunting.

I'd vote for him a fourth time. Democrats are so full of **** when it comes to... most things, but especially the personal attacks against Nader. Now let's go make more excuses for Obama.

Nader gave Bush the win in 2000. I think he is a usefull idiot for the GOP.

In that case, I'll register Democrat in the Texas primary, 2012, and vote Nader.

Hell, why not?

I did in 2008, voted Obama in the primary, and he won.

Let's see if I am a trend setter.

OTOH, in 2000 Nader and Buchanan split the angry crackpot vote.

So instead of all the angry crackpots voting Libertarian, the right wing angry crackpots voted for Buchanan and the left wing angry crackpots voted for Nader. Few other than actual party members voted Libertarian. Unlike 1996.

And the figures do back that up.

I know that's part of The NarrativeTM but the numbers don't back it up.

I knew I'd get one.

Actually Nader got more votes in Florida than the margin between Bush and Gore, so I think that the numbers do back that up. Of course, not all of them would have voted for Gore, but I think enough would have to have made the difference.

And of course if Florida had gone the other way, Gore would have been president.

is the 2-party system so ingrained in our minds that whenever a 3rd party candidate gets a decent number of votes we assume it was a ploy to swing the election to one of the other candidates?

i remember hearing the same thing said about ross perot in 92

He's gotta be every bit of 70, I would think. (ETA: Wikipedia says 76)

For the record, he's an idiot.

And there was that whole thing about bush's campaign advisor being in charge of elections and lots of black people getting illegally booted off voter rolls.

A lot of things when wrong in Florida. My favorite is the idea that conflicts of interest do not matter to supreme court justices. Having a wife working for the campaign clearly doesn't create a conflict in anyway.

its always been my opinion that both sides steal votes, and do so about equally so it all evens out (i live in chicago, the city so liberal people keep voting democrat long after theyre dead)
