Was Tim Russert Killed by Heart Medication?

That article had a section titled "Pharmaceuticals do not make you healthy" which makes it anti-pharma Woo propaganda and thus not anything worth discussing.

I scanned, and didn't see- did they say which exact medication he was taking, or are they guessing? How would they know? My guess is that they made a wrong diagnosis, and are using it to sell books.

1- Mike Adams & NaturalNews = One best source of health misinformation you can find on the web. If you're looking for woo, any woo, they promote it glowingly.

2- That "article" is so full of crap (and hoping to sell it as books, nothing less), it's a challenge to find where to begin the deconstruction. One of my favorite gem is this:

This book, simply stated, teaches you how to reverse heart disease by changing what you eat. Change your diet, and heart disease vanishes, blood flow is restored, and the build-up of arterial plaque begins to fade away. It is absolutely true that through changes in diet and exercise, a person can make themselves heart attack proof.

Neither statins nor change in diet/exercise can reverse atherosclerosis. Some improvements (more dramatic ones with medication) can be made to high LDL/HBP, to reduce the health risk due to the strain on the coronary system, nothing more. Atherosclerosis is not caused by "plaque". Plaque is a symptom of advanced disease. And no, diet and exercise wont make you heart attack proof, they'll just mitigate the risks, just like the medication does.

Atherosclerosis is an auto-immune degenerative disease, in which the damage to artheries begins 15 to 20 years prior to any visible symptoms. And actually, in many patients, the classic symptoms (HBP, High LDL) will never show up before the stroke happens. Those patients are in tip-top shape and active one day, dead the following one. If you do an autopsy, their artheries are as damaged and fragile as those of the fat/sedentary guy you'd think brought the disease on himself.
