Was the invasion of Iraq and the rise of the Truth Movement related?

Do you think the Truth Movement would have gained such momentum if Bush had not invaded Iraq?

I’m not so sure. I tend to think the rise of the Truth Movement has more to do with the Bush Administration not wanting an investigation of 9/11 and answering remaining questions.

The "truth" movement never gained much at all momentum in the first place.

But to answer you question, I don't think there would be as many people involved if it wasn't for Iraq. The "truth" movement is mostly fueled by its members hatred for Bush, and by far the largest reason for that is Iraq. And a lot of truthers feel that since he "lied" about WMDs (I don't think they lied, they were just wrong), he would lie about 9/11.

Yes Iraq probably had a lot to do with it. The "Truth" movement is not fueled by honest individuals who are truly looking for a new investigation. They do not base their motives on facts. It simply comes from a hatred of government and Bush. Throw in some creepy music, distorted facts, quotes out of context, and outright lies and you have yourself some very misinformed individuals driven by their hate of government.

I blame the Jews.

ETA: I should have added: "/end Magz mode."

The twoof movement was around long before Iraq and long before most of the people now in it were born. But there's always going to be a rise in conspiracy theory cults where a big conspiracy theory gets started such as 9/11. And as we see now, the excitement of that conspiracy is dying out, as to be expected.
