Warner Bros. Facing $900 Million Lawsuit Over "The Conjuring" Franchise.

The Gist:

Author, Gerald Brittle, says the movies infringe on his 1980 book, The Demonologist, which first detailed the accounts of Ed & Lorraine Warren. He claims he had exclusive rights " to create derivative works based on the Warrens' cases.".

The best part?

It's a common argument raised during copyright dust-ups involving true life tales. Here, though, Brittle's legal team says it has an ace in the hole: The Demonologist isn't historical fact because the Warrens lied about what happened in their stories.

I'll keep an eye on this one because it looks nasty.
