He never once foundered, though. I'll give him full credit. You can argue that knowledge of the tether made the walk easier, but there were no pauses other than a short rest stop near the end. The images of him over the rim were spectacular.

It was strange seeing his grandfather's fall again - that's something I remember from my childhood.

The Grand Canyon should be awesome!
 
Wait, ABC didn't want a live death, but were happy to replay his grandfather's?
 
It was still a great walk. As he pointed out, he had to wear the tether, but he didn't use it. Perhaps for the Grand Canyon walk he will have the draw to go looking for another network if ABC insists on wimping out.

Seeing that tape of the elder Wallenda falling still sends chills up my spine. It seems to me that I saw a tape one time of the three level pyramid collapsing (the one that killed two family members). That thing was just crazy dangerous, I could see using a net for that.
