WeAreChange is reporting 3 cameras stolen from a parked automobile. That would be an everyday event where I come from except that the theft occurred after Luke received harassing phone calls for the previous 24 hours. That must be unusual for him to receive harassing telephone calls.

To give this a conspiratorial spin, WAC in UK had some of their photography equipment stolen a few weeks ago.

Perhaps they can hold another donation drive to replace the missing items. Oh, and somebody smokes Newports.

Maybe they should learn not to leave expensive things laying in plain sight.

Well, Luke says the camera bag was covered with a towel and the windows of the car so tinted that no one could see the contents anyway, but I would never leave a $4000 laptop (which was not taken) in a parked car.

The thought behind this thread was that no ordinary event ever happens to a Truther. A common robbery tactic is viewed suspiciously:

Luke in the article said:
...It is important to note that I myself was receiving harassing phone calls for the past 24 hours prior to the robbery.........The police have notified us that the person who committed the crime must have watched all of our moves before breaking into the car and stealing the cameras....

But then, maybe they have been stalked. Maybe someone has seen them regularly with their expensive equipment and saw them go to the meeting without it and took advantage of the opportunity to steal it. Perhaps it was a premeditated theft after all.

At least he didn't say something like, "and there were also wheelchair tracks leading away from the scene of the crime" .....

And in other news, the Chicago Tribune reported that thefts from automobiles are on the rise nationwide, and the reason is the crap economy we have.

But that couldn't be the reason, could it? People unable to feed their families resorting to the easiest sort of crime there is? Not in WAC-world.

Sure it wasn't an inside job?

Maybe WAC pulled the cameras themselves for the insurance payout.

;)

In some areas it is not a good idea to leave valuables in plain sight no matter what the economy is like.

My thinking is they wanted to get some new cameras and figured the best way to raise the money is to get someone to bust in and take them. Or it's a story cooked up to get their loyal freedom fighters to ChipIn to cover the new equipment.

I have no evidence to support this... but who needs evidence, right?

i love how the acronym for We Are Change...is WAC. For they are indeed..very very wack.

=)

I’ve been thinking of using the term “WACjob” to refer to these people. Hardly sounds original, though, and the meaning would be totally lost in oral communication.…

Oh! A towel! The world's best car-item theft deterrent! A towel!

"Gosh! Nobody will notice this 50" Plasma TV screen in my backseat if I put a TOWEL over it!'

And no one ever rifles through a car just on spec, figuring there may be easily stolen electronics, money or such things hidden somewhere.

I keep thinking this thread title refers to the Women's Army Corps from WW2 days.
