This claim arrived in the spring of 2004, along with reams (no pun intended) of medical affidavits attesting to this applicant's apparent difficulting in keeping his bowel movements below 10 per day. I kid you not.

Along with a notarized application, we received the following unsigned claim letter:

I will demonstrate my body's ability to produce energy, (feed off itself), not for survival, but for normal and above normal everyday use. I will not become hungry or weak. For a period of 96 hours, I will have no calorie intake, except two pieces of chewing gum - 10 calories per day. I will excercise a minimum of 90 minutes for the first 24 hours 9 hours after my last calorie intake. (I will add an additional 30 minutes of exercise every additional 24 hours.)

I will require water and 9 hours of sleep every 24 hours. Blood and urine tests will be available at all times. This demonstration will be done free of all drugs and supplements, etc. If possible I would like to demonstrate this in the Reno, Nevada area. Cameras can be available at all times. I will continue this past 96 hours if my weight is not below 155 lbs.
