Hi everyone.

My newest adition to my computer park, an ACER Aspire 7720G, came with Vista Home Premium and aside from the fact that I'm planning on buying the disc instead of solely relying on the build in recoverysystem (What if the HD crashes?), it's been working like a charm.

I do have one problem though and I can't seem to google-fu the problem.

I'm running BOINC, but during startup, Vista blocks the start of mentioned program and I can't seem to find where to make the "allow to run" permanent.

Any of you got helpfull information on this?

Another problem bugging me is the Windows Firewall.
Given the fact that I'm running the latest version of BullGuard, and it keeps bugging me about running two firewalls at the same time, I want to disable it, the windows firewall that is. unfortunately it seems to switch itself right back on regular basis.

Help?

The "Vista Nanny" window that pops up with the dialog that gives you the option to cancel or allow execution of a program can be turned off by following this path: Control Panel > User Accounts > User Account Control On or off. Un-check the box and restart.

The firewall should be able to be turned off by the Windows Firewall dialog in Control panel as well.
