Recently caught a Swift Boat advert, consisting of Kerry's voice reciting the various alleged war-crimes of US soldiers in Vietnam, while various people accused him of prolonging the war/whatever.

I was trying to work out exactly what their point was - if they had one. My question is, do people really deny that those things happened in Vietnam? It's not on a par with holocaust denial, but it's much more recent.

I don't think the people who complain about objecting to Vietnam will ever answer your question. It's irrelevant to them whether the objections were true or false--what's important is that nobody criticize the US or Our Boys. Ever. It makes America look bad, which is the worst treason possible.

Only someone who completely hates America would even think of wondering whether there was legitimacy to objections about impropriety in the Vietnam War. Like Jane Fonda!
