Veterinary critique of acupuncture

For those interested, the late Bob Imrie’s PowerPoint presentation on acupuncture is now available online
Having corresponded with Bob personally and on public discussion groups for many years I am deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden passing. His enthusiasm for getting to the facts behind acupuncture and his detailed research on the subject has been literally an inspiration to me. It was my reading one of his works on veterinary acupuncture following a study visit to China that first made me realise that alternative medicine wasn't "alternative" other than in name and didn't deserve the special treatment demanded by its followers of science and could actually be tested in the same way as anything else in this world. This is a sad loss, veterinary scepticism has lost one of its most colourful, incisive and intelligent characters. I can hardly believe it.

Bob came to speak to the Central Veterinary Society in London in January, and gave that presentation there. I felt that while the material was excellent, the presentation was lacking something - I wonder if he was entirely well even then? I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of his death.
