Turn on your TVs to CNN/FOX/MSNBC/CBC NEWSWORLD if you can.

This is a terrible tragedy, but trying to look at it dispassionately as possible, it's interesting to see how an event like this develops in real time in its first hours.

I've already heard three different death estimates, 21, 31 and 32. Talking heads are already talking about large numbers of media and federal agency personnel converging on the area.

It's interesting in the context of conspiracy debunking because this is where all the "fog of war" is going to happen. Also the speed with wich private and government organizations are responding... something wich twoofers like to claim is proof of a "false flag attack".

If you can, compare what they say right now with what they'll be saying tomorrow regarding the death toll, the suspect, the timeline of events, etc.

And of course, as always, I assume all of our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those hurt or killed.
 
I was never one for gun control but this is getting out of hand. add to that if you take a single day of all the larger cities in the USA you could probably get a similar daily death rate simply from gang and drive by shootings.
 
It is a terrible tragedy, but does point out how far off the mark reports can be of a developing story. The radio news today at first said only 1 dead, and a suspect was in custody. Then a report of another round of shooting and a search on for another suspect, in addition to the one already caught.

Now, of course, it turns out there was never a suspect in custody, there was only 1 gunman, and the despicable bastard killed 32 people at last count before he killed himself.

I'm watching on FOX and they haven't said anything about the suspect killing himself.

EDIT: Appearantly Columbine was 9 years ago this week.

When I first heard about this early this morning, there was one confirmed fatality. Then six. Then 22. Now it's 31. New reports come in, new information is developed. Earlier erroneous reports are corrected. Gradually, a clear picture of the events of the day will emerge.

Twoofers, on the other hand, will hang on to those early erroneous reports. As distateful as it is to me, no doubt someone will come up with some conspiracy theory about this.

My thoughts and prayers are indeed with the victims and their families.
 
Oh gawd... Jack Thompson, the Fred Phelps of anti-videogame advocacy is now on blaming Grand Theft Auto.
 
How long before the police find a loose change dvd in this guys house and an attempt is made to connect it to the 911 truth movement?

Huh? How can you bring this up in a situation where the victims were prevented from carrying firearms, and the death toll would have been much less if they would have been allowed to?

Can we please avoid the pro-gun/anti-gun debate in this thread/section?

I'm sure there will be plenty of the same old tired debate in politics & current events if anyone feels like that's what they'd like to focus on about this tragedy.

Though this quote is deserves all the scorn this forum can muster, I implore everyone to simply ignore it and refrain from atacking this poster. We can deal with this nonsense later, there will be plenty of it..
 
I have seen on this forum people trying to paint truthers as the kind of unstable people that would go on such rampages. Columbine was specifically mentioned.
