Haven't seen a thread on this yet.

Here's one of the stories:

US-Cuba relations: Global praise for normalisation of ties

It's about time, and a good move for Obama.

50+ years of useless political theatrics coming to an end hopefully soon and too long after the end of the Cold War.

My co-worker despises Obama (he has books "written by" Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck) so he insisted that while he might agree with normalizing relations what about all the torture they do in Cuba? And why does the executive branch get to do it unilaterally it should be done by "all of government". I suggested that he has authority to make diplomatic moves and that it was for Congress to lift the embargo if they choose. No, co-worker replied, Obama gets to do everything he wants and he'll probably lift the embargo himself because he usually does everything without Congressional approval anyway.

And anyway Obama's trying to make America just like Cuba because he's a Marxist and he'll probably take over as dictator instead of stepping down. I suggested that at least the prisoner exchange was a good thing, but no that was all done by Spain and the pope.

Really? The pope released prisoners in US custody?

Yes.

Perhaps it was done by the power of prayer, as in Acts 16
25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; 26 and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened.…
