As long as we've already got a roll call list, I decided to start a central and single networking thread I'd been musing over now instead of waiting. This thread is only for people who want to request or provide assistance for TAM 7 or coordinating activities during it. I'm going to request Moderated status to keep out jokes banter and editorial comment.

Here is my suggestion. Start your post with one of three words:

Need

This is for people who need financial assistance, a roommate or things like transport to or from the hotel/airport (including to your home).

Have

This is for people who have space in their room, are renting a car or are willing to offer financial help so others may attend.

Want

This is for social networking and group activity planning posts like trips to The Gun Store, dinner Thursday night or riding the roller coasters at New York, New York.

If you wish to reply to a Need, Have or Want post, please quote it so we can keep track of exactly who is responding to/coordinating with whom.

Need
financial assistance for two female attendees.

Paulina who received aid and scholarship TAM6, and is still poor. Junior year of college, applying for Master's program next semester. Single, mother of 3 year old Zachary, and recent citizen of U.S.A from Mexico.

Bri - Will be 18 by TAM7, her first skeptical event, been a girlfriend of my son for 4 years now. She also has no money, and will be attending college next fall. Oldest child of 11 siblings, family can not support her. Latina, and brilliant (hey, she is dating my son, what can I say!) She plays on the Cross-Country, and Lacross teams. President of her schools Gay/Lesbian/Transgender club, she has been active volenteering against Prop 8 (CA prop that takes away gay's rights to vote) She will have just graduated from High School a couple weeks prior and this will be her first real vacation, ever!

I will be paying the full costs for my son and I, just need help with these two. We are going to be flying in, costs about $200 +/- and I will need an extra hotel room this year, plus food costs ect... Anything else that will make this a really special event for them would make my day, they are both really deserving people.

I will cover any costs above what others help with. In other words I need help defraying my costs for these two young women.

Willing
They are all Willing to help defray the costs by volunteering, organizing, photographing, assisting, or whatever is needed. They would feel better about doing something to help. We plan on arriving early usually on the Wed before and staying until Sunday afternoon.

US - do I have to apply seperatly for them to receive assistance for the tution?

* Boundless energy and little need for sleep.

* Willingness to donate time and energy to the betterment of TAM 7.

* Skillz: video editing, print publication, photography, web design, general convention know-how.

If there's any way I can help out somewhere, let me know.
 
WILLING

To start up scholarship auction in a few weeks.

NEED

Really good items for the auction. They don't have to been expensive items, because every bit helps. Things that can be mailed easily is a plus though.
 
Want

Everyone who purchased a RSL fundraising t-shirt to bring it so we can get a group photo as a show of support for Rob and all he's done.

Susan, sorry for taking so long to reply to this question. Paul will adminster the officially sanctioned scholarship distributions and I have no say in them. This thread is for personal contacts so if any official effort leaves you short post here and I'm sure we can generate enough to make up the difference.

I can only speak for myself, but we shouldn't have any trouble raising the funds officially or ad hoc to get them to attend. :)

Three of the T-shirts! Or, will have, anyway. I just ordered them.

WANT

As many people there with T-shirts as possible!!! I'd like Robert to enter a room filled with T-shirts being worn by the wonderful folks who have been supporting him!

Chillzero is having a difficult time finding a black T-shirt in 4XL (for Robert's "Dark Entity" shirt). Anybody got any ideas? PM me or chill. Thanks.

If you are staying at the South Point, they have a free shuttle from the Airport every half hour or hour or something.
 
Two needs and one have.

Need 1. Financial assistance/scholarship.
Need 2. Roommates.

Have: Three seats in my car from Bakersfield/Kern County, CA for potential carpoolers.
 
Have:
* Room for a roomate or two.
* Flexible options for meeting needs of other various sorts: financial, or whatever.

I doubt I will be renting a car, right now. However, I may change my mind, after reviewing my plans for the city, this year. But, at the moment: Assume car rides are the ONLY assistance I might NOT be able to provide.
 
HAVE:

*Hotel Room from Wednesday though Monday. Willing to share. Only qualification is that you do not smoke (at least in the room).

*Some funds to help out folks. Got some things around the house that need work, so I do not know if I can do as much as last year--but I'll try.
